In line with it being Men’s Health Week, we wanted to tackle a question we get asked a lot here at Rise: "Do I need to be struggling with something in order to see a practitioner?"

The short answer is absolutely not.

In fact, the majority of our work is focused on the proactive side of performance. Just like you don't wait until you're completely injured to look after your physical conditioning, you don't need to wait until you are burnt out or overwhelmed to work on your mindset.

Whether you are an athlete, a business leader, or navigating personal goals, our services are designed to help you build practical mental skills before the pressure peaks.

Taking care of your mental baseline isn't about fixing a flaw - it's a deliberate strategy to ensure you can stay at the top of your game for the long haul.

If you’ve been thinking about a routine check-in, head to riseperformancconsulting.com.au to explore our services or book an initial chat with the team.

We often talk about strategy, focus, and achieving elite output. But to sustain that level of performance over time, the physical and mental baseline has to be secure.

Taking a proactive approach to your health isn’t a secondary task - it’s a core component of your long-term strategy. True growth happens when we move away from a reactive mindset and start actively managing our health before challenges arise, ensuring we can continue to show up for our teams, our goals, and our families.

Sustaining your potential starts with a simple check-in.

Use this week as your cue. Schedule the appointment, or remind someone in your circle to do the same. 🤝

There’s a massive misconception that you have to completely eliminate nerves or anxiety before you compete.

That’s why people get frustrated trying to force relaxation. They waste valuable energy trying to get rid of uncomfortable feelings that are totally normal.

High performers use mindfulness instead. They don't fight their nerves, instead they learn to acknowledge them whilst anchoring their focus on the task at hand.

Stop chasing the need for calmness to perform. Learn to perform through the noise.

Where is your drive actually coming from? 🧠

It’s easy to get caught up in an outcome-focused & “Ego” environment. Wanting to win, comparing yourself to peers & chasing external recognition.

Whilst our “Ego” is normal at times, if we spend too much time there it usually catches up with us in the form of higher anxiety, less enjoyment & avoiding challenging ourselves.

True, sustainable growth happens when we shift our focus towards building a Mastery Environment. Learning to focus the majority of time on personal improvement, embracing challenges & supporting those around you to learn & grow. When we do this, performance naturally takes care of itself.

Swipe through for a quick breakdown of how to audit your focus and 3 practical ways to build a mastery mindset starting today.

South Australia created history back in March by winning back-to-back Sheffield Shield titles for the first time in the state's 133-year history!

Our very own Simon was recently proud to be a part of the South Australia Cricket Teams Men's journey across the season.

Huge congratulations to the entire squad and everyone involved in this massive achievement!

Working with us at Rise doesn’t always mean sitting in a room.

We love getting outside for "Walk & Talk" sessions. Moving the conversation outdoors creates a relaxed environment that naturally helps clear the mental clutter, allowing you to connect with your goals on a deeper level and get the absolute best out of yourself.

High-level thinking requires space - and sometimes a change of scenery is the fastest way to unlock a fresh perspective.

If you are looking to take your sporting performance to the next level and shifting your next session outdoors sounds like the right fit for your mindset, we’d love to work with you.

Head to the link in our bio to book an outdoor session with the team. 👇

Supporting the coaches who shape the game. 🏉🧠

We recently had a fantastic time delivering a workshop to the U8 through to U18 coaches at Hectorville Sports & Community Club

Coaches handle a lot more than just tactics, so this session was all about giving them practical tools to build optimal environments for young athletes. We covered:

The Developing Brain: Helping coaches learn how the developing brain works & strategies to help players manage emotions.

Authentic Coaching: Creating a grounded team culture where kids feel safe to learn and grow.

Player Wellbeing: Knowing exactly when to step in—and when to step out—through the highs and lows.

It was great to see the coaches engaging, sharing ideas, and supporting each other.

A massive thank you to Heccies for having us, and a huge shoutout to Rolled Burnside for fueling the session! 🌯🤝

Real belonging isn't something you can force - it’s the natural result of an environment where people feel safe enough to be authentic.

When a space is grounded in safety, the "filter" comes off. That’s when the energy shifts from self-protection to genuine contribution. By creating the room for people to show up as they are, you aren't just being supportive - you're unlocking a higher level of innovation and team potential.

Safe spaces don’t just feel better; they perform better.

The physical side of an injury is often only half the story. The real hurdle is the "return to play" - regaining trust in your body & quietening the fear of re-injury or a setback.

Taking a science-informed approach helps bridge that gap. Whether you’re an athlete fighting to get back on the field or someone navigating long-term pain, the focus is on:

🌱 Improved understanding: Learning the science behind pain can empower you to recover faster
🌱 Confidence in Movement: Rebuilding the trust between your mind and your body.
🌱 Optimising Rehab: Using specific mental tools to support your physical recovery.

Navigating a slow or frustrating recovery doesn't have to be a solo journey. Our team is here to help you strengthen your path forward - both inside and out.

High Standards 🤝 High Care

Caption: There’s a common myth that you have to be "hard" on a team to get results.

In reality, the best outcomes happen when high standards meet high care. When people feel supported, they are more likely to take the risks necessary to reach elite levels.

It’s not one or the other. Peak performance requires both. 👏
