Federation of European Motorcyclists' Associations

Federation of European Motorcyclists' Associations The motorcycling federation in Europe, promoting riders’ interests and defending riders’ rights. FEMA is the road riding motorcycling federation in Europe.

FEMA’s purpose is to promote, protect and preserve motorcycling. FEMA’s mission is to promote riders’ interests and defend riders’ rights throughout Europe and globally. To achieve that:

FEMA calls for official recognition of the positive aspects of motorcycling as practical transport, addressing social inclusion, reducing congestion and limiting the take-up of land for transport use. FEMA promot

es the positive recreational aspects of motorcycling, particularly touring as a healthy, skilful and adventurous way of travelling which benefits communities and individuals through tourism throughout Europe. FEMA calls upon all official bodies and government departments in Europe to make generous positive provision for motorcycle-based transport and recreation in policies, planning and legislation. FEMA accepts that road safety is important and that it is the shared responsibility of all users, vehicle manufacturers, authorities and those responsible for the infrastructure. We promote and call for positive motorcycle-based measures rather than discouraging motorcycling. FEMA will seek to maximise its membership, comprising European national riders’ rights organisations which have interests, policies and principles consistent with those of FEMA, to ensure the best possible representation for all motorcyclists.

Motorcycles can no longer be treated as waste.

The new EU circularity rules recognize that a motorcycle has value throughout its entire life: when it is built, maintained, repaired, reused and eventually recycled.

We invite you to the webinar 'Road markings for motorcyclists’ safety' on Wednesday 7 October 2026, from 10.00 to 13.00h CET.

Please register at: www.kfv.at/event/webinar-road-markings-for-motorcyclists-safety

Road markings can be used to nudge motorcyclists to keep away from the center line, in order to prevent riders from collisions with the oncoming traffic. Several studies and crash statistics show: they work! On average, 80 percent of the crashes in the respective curves can be avoided with road markings for motorcyclists. Plus, they are a cost-effective road safety measure.

Experts from several countries are excited to share their experiences and lessons learned, including stakeholder acceptance and resistance, supporters, technical and operational challenges, safety impacts and recommentations for successful deployment.

This webinar is organized by the Kuratorium für Verkehrssicherheit (KfV), and supported by the Federation of European Motorcyclists’ Associations (FEMA).

MANUFACTURERS' RECALLS

The steering lock screw on your Honda CL250A, CL250A3, CL500A, CMX500A or CMX500A2 may not have been tightened correctly. If it loosens while the motorcycle is moving, it could interfere with the steering and cause loss of control, increasing the risk of a fall. The detached part may also endanger other road users.

The connectors of the 12 V battery supplying the DC/DC converter on your BMW C evolution are insufficiently sealed against splash water. This may allow water to pe*****te the connectors and cause a short circuit and lead to a fire.

Check our website for the model years.
