Good signage helps a building feel like a place, not just an address.

The BOLT Apartments at 2735 Pembina Highway brings contemporary rental living to a convenient south Winnipeg location, just 3 km from the University of Manitoba.

We worked on the building's identity with custom LED-lit channel letters featuring a blue lightning bolt and white lettering. The combination of face lighting and a soft halo around the letters gives the sign a different look after dark, especially against the dark brick exterior.

It's a straightforward design with a strong visual presence, helping residents and visitors recognize the building from the street.

What started in 2004 as Dina’s Place in the Waverly Auto Mall has grown into one of Winnipeg’s most welcoming neighborhood gathering spots. Today, The Getaway Cafe at 1500 Dakota Street is where south Winnipeg goes for homemade comfort food, Royal Pizza, and unforgettable live local music and comedy.

A few months ago, our team had the pleasure of crafting and installing custom non-lit channel letters across their exterior facade. Designed to work in harmony with the building's warm exterior and gooseneck lighting fixtures, these dimensional black letters give the café a clean, bold presence that guides regulars and newcomers alike.

It is always rewarding to support local entrepreneurs who pour so much passion into their community. Have you stopped by The Getaway Cafe for lunch or a show lately? It's always satisfying when a challenging sign comes together.

The Medigas Manitoba project at Linden Ridge Shopping Centre was a particularly detailed build. The green logo is made up of numerous small elements, so getting everything looking right took patience and a bit of problem-solving from the team.

The finished illuminated sign gives Medigas a strong presence at its Winnipeg South location, including after dark.

Beyond the signage, Medigas is a Manitoba family-run business with more than 35 years of experience helping people with CPAP, sleep therapy and respiratory care. It's nice to work with a local company that has such a long history here.

Thanks to everyone on our team who helped make this one happen.

Some businesses have a look you recognize right away.

Performance Chiropractic is one of those places. Their red and black logo has a strong, simple shape, so the exterior signage didn't need to overcomplicate things.

We fabricated and installed these custom non-lit channel letters at their location on Dakota Street in Winnipeg.

Performance Chiropractic offers chiropractic care using Koren Specific Technique, along with acupuncture, massage therapy and custom orthotics. Their approach to care is centred around gentle, specific treatment, which feels very consistent with the straightforward look of the finished signage.

A clean sign, a recognizable logo and a good fit for the building.

Some signs mark a new business. Others mark a new chapter.

Bass Pro Shops at 580 Sterling Lyon Parkway is a good example. The location was formerly Cabela’s, so the transition meant bringing a familiar Winnipeg destination under a new name and identity.

Electra Sign Ltd. fabricated and installed the illuminated pylon signage, including the large Bass Pro Shops Outpost sign and the illuminated tenant panels below.

We especially like seeing this one after dark. The lighting gives the pylon a completely different presence.

There are some Winnipeg businesses that just feel familiar. Royal Pizza is one of them. 🍕

Established in 1975, The Original Royal Pizza has been serving Winnipeg with handmade pizza, original dough and signature sauce recipes for more than five decades.

We recently got to add our own small piece to the story by fabricating and installing these custom non-lit channel letters at their 1500 Dakota Street location.

The finished lettering has plenty of depth and character, while fitting naturally into the building's exterior.

And yes, photographing pizza for a sign project is definitely one of the better parts of the job.

Some of the most important parts of a sign are the ones nobody ever sees.

Take the small drainage holes underneath LED channel letters. They aren't exactly exciting to look at, but they serve an important purpose. If moisture gets inside a letter, those openings give it a path back out instead of allowing water to sit inside.

We included that detail when we fabricated and installed the illuminated channel letters for Ramallah Cafe at 1600 Kenaston Blvd #190.

The finished sign looks great after dark, but what we like about this project is that it represents a Winnipeg business with a story behind it. Ramallah Cafe began in 2015 with a goal of sharing Palestinian and Middle Eastern food and hospitality with the community.

From falafel and hummus to chicken shawarma, shish kabob and their sharing platters, there's plenty on the menu that makes this more than just another storefront.

We're happy to have played a small part in giving the cafe a sign that helps people find them.

You can tell a lot about a business from its sign.

For Pinseekers Golf Lounge Winnipeg, the illuminated channel letters and oversized golf logo at 1045 St James St say exactly what the place is about: golf, but with a relaxed lounge feel.

Pinseekers brings indoor golf, simulator technology, food, drinks and a social atmosphere together under one roof. Our job was to give the St. James location signage that matched that personality.

We fabricated and installed the LED-lit channel letters and custom logo signage, giving the entrance a strong presence both during the day and after dark.

A pretty good fit for a place where the goal is to tee up indoors.

Before guests enjoy the food, they notice the front of the building.

That's why thoughtful signage matters.

For Phở Hoang Restaurant, these LED-lit channel letters create a bright, welcoming entrance that reflects the fresh and modern dining experience waiting inside. From one family restaurant in 2011 to four Winnipeg locations, they've built a reputation around authentic flavours and making everyone feel welcome.

We're grateful to have played a small part by fabricating and installing signage that complements their brand.

A good sign doesn't just display a name. It helps people find you with confidence.

One question we hear often is, "What exactly is an illuminated channel letter?"

Channel letters are individually fabricated letters with internal LED lighting. Because each letter stands on its own, they create a dimensional look that's cleaner and more refined than many other sign styles.

For this project at 500 Black Diamond Blvd. in Winnipeg, the finished sign adds visibility while fitting naturally with the building's modern exterior.

If you're comparing sign options for your own business, channel letters are worth considering for their durability, energy efficiency, and professional appearance.
