My last traditional Comedy performance and it is with some amazing comedians in .

Oliver Bowler has supported Romesh Ranganathan, John Bishop and Ross Noble this year amongst other famous acts. El Purnell was awarded at this years Edinburgh Fringe = he's hilarious! Dom is a southerner, but we love him!

Sunday 15th November 2026 at the Cottonworks. 5 minutes walk from the train station.

ANYONE CAN HOLD A MICROPHONE. NOT EVERYONE CAN HOLD A ROOM. 🎤

Hosting an event isn’t just about reading a script, introducing speakers and announcing winners.

It’s about creating an atmosphere. Reading the room. Thinking on your feet. Keeping people engaged, making them laugh and ensuring the whole event flows effortlessly.

ANNOUNCEMENT! THE SHE FLOCKS 8 FEATHERS 🪶

8 Feathers. 8 women. 8 stories worth recognising.
I'm adding something special to She Flocks on 8 March 2027.

Not another awards ceremony. No public votes. No popularity contests. No endless applications. Just 8 women whose actions, courage, character or kindness deserve recognition.

Inspired by the principles in my book Finding Your Feathers, we're going to recognise women who've earned theirs.

🪶 1. She's Flocking Fabulous Feather
For the woman who perhaps doesn't recognise just how much she's achieved or the difference she's made.
🪶 2. The Ringmaster Feather
For the woman who somehow keeps the show on the road. She's juggling people, priorities, problems, work and life — often while dealing with things nobody else even knows about.
🪶 3. Flock It, Let's Do It Feather
For the woman who stopped waiting for everything to be perfect and actually made something happen. She turned the idea into action, stopped overthinking, made the decision and got on with it.
🪶 4. The Ballsy Bird Feather
For the woman who held her nerve when things got tough. When things became uncertain, uncomfortable or downright scary, she stayed focused on what mattered and kept going.
🪶 5. The Bold Badass Feather
For the woman who doesn't shy away from what needs to be said. She'll have the difficult conversation, challenge something that isn't right and give honest feedback — but always with kindness, courage and integrity.
🪶 6. The Fortune Favours Feather
For the woman who was brave enough to take the risk. She backed herself, made the bold decision, tried something different or stepped into the unknown when there were no guarantees.
🪶 7. The Don't Be a Dick Feather
For the woman who proves you can be successful, ambitious and bloody good at what you do while still being a thoroughly decent human being. She treats people properly and does the right thing even when nobody is watching.
🪶 8. The Cheerleader Feather
For the woman who helps other women fly. She opens doors, makes introductions, shares opportunities, gives encouragement and champions other women. She says their names in rooms they're not in.

SO, WHO DO YOU KNOW WHO'S EARNED HER FEATHER?

You'll be able to nominate someone else in just 100 words, telling us why she deserves recognition. No self-nominations. No public voting. And nominees don't need to have bought a ticket to She Flocks. We'll reveal all eight recipients during the event, where each will receive her very own Feather.

There’s a LOT going on in Feather Fixer world, so I thought I’d put it all in one place.

Here’s what’s happening, what’s coming up and how you can get involved:

🪶 THE LEADERSHIP LOUNGE
Our next session is Wednesday 28th October, with the brilliant Steven Watson , talking all things Time Mastery.

Practical leadership development, proper conversation and things you can actually use when you go back to work. This is the 2nd of 12 masterclasses on Leadership. ONLY ONE PLACE LEFT.

The speakers are ALL announced and I am ridiculously excited about the line-up.

😂 LAUGHTER AFTER LOSS
We’re halfway through the workshops!
Ten people who have NEVER performed stand-up comedy before are turning their experiences of grief and loss into something that makes people laugh.
The finale is Wednesday 4th November and tickets are now on sale. This is going to be a very special night.

And then there’s my actual day job… 😂
I’m still out there doing what I do best:
🪶 Leadership Consultancy – strategy, organisational development, culture, change and sorting out the stuff that’s got messy.
🪶 Leadership Mentoring – working one-to-one with CEOs, senior leaders and managers who want somewhere confidential to think, challenge themselves and become better leaders.
🪶 Keynote Speaking – leadership, resilience, difficult conversations, holding your nerve and Finding Your Feathers.
🪶 Event Hosting & MC – conferences, awards, corporate events and celebrations that need energy, humour and someone who can actually keep the bloody thing moving.

So yes… there’s quite a lot to keep up with.
But essentially, it all comes back to the same thing:
People. Leadership. Confidence. Courage. Connection. And occasionally, comedy.

I've only gone and become a finalist in TWO categories at the Flamingo Business Award 2026

🏆 Ultimate Entrepreneur Award
🏆 Speaker of the Year Award

And I couldn't be more chuffed! For those who don't know my story, I spent 28 years in leadership, including 18 years as a CEO, before making one of the biggest decisions of my life.
At 55, I walked away from the security of a substantial salary, a job I loved and a career I'd worked bloody hard to build.
Not because I had to. Because I wanted to see what else was possible.

I backed myself. And The Feather Fixer became my full-time business.

Why Ultimate Entrepreneur?
Because entrepreneurship isn't just about having a business idea. It's about having the courage to do something with it.
I've built a business doing what I love. Leadership mentoring, consultancy, keynote speaking and event hosting. I've created the Leadership Lounge, developed my own events, and I've published my first book last November. I’ve gone VAT registered in 6 months.

I've taken risks, made mistakes, learned lessons and discovered that starting a new chapter in your fifties can be pretty bloody exciting!

Why Speaker of the Year?
Because I've discovered that my voice is one of my greatest assets. (Even the accent!)

From delivering my TEDx talk to speaking on stages across the country, I use my experiences, humour, honesty and a fair bit of northern straight-talking to challenge how people think about leadership.

I don't do corporate waffle. I don't pretend leadership is easy. And I certainly don't believe you have to fit a particular mould to be successful.

I want people to leave a room thinking differently, feeling braver and ready to do something. I’m speaking at a leadership event in Dorset next week!

“ Maura did an incredible job presenting the what MORTGAGE Awards 2026 at London’s Kia Oval. As most of our team are based in Bolton, we wanted to secure someone from the town as a host to inject some Northern warmth and charm. It safe to say Maura brought this in buckets.

Announcing nearly 50 awards, the brief was pretty challenging, but Maura rose to the occasion and handled the volume brilliantly whilst keeping the presentation flowing at a good pace and entertaining our 200+ guests.
