A new garden taking shape in St. Ives. This design is built around circular forms to create flow, soften the space and draw the eye through the garden. Contrasting industrial materials including gabions and reclaimed railway sleepers bring texture, structure and a modern edge. We've planted the shady areas, now waiting for some rain and cooler days to complete the planting and see this garden come to life, balancing strength with nature.

These lovely Echinacea purpurea provide a tall, vertical plant in your sunny border.

Drought tolerant, easy to grow, the perfect plant in this dry spell and the bees love them too.

Soft layers, loose drifts and a whisper of movement, this frothy herbaceous border is looking beautiful this morning. Proof that calm can be dynamic. The Ox eye daisies and Alchemilla mollis pull the whole area together and look fabulous in with other cut flowers.

The best of it is when the daisies are cut back they come again but shorter next time, giving you many more months of joy.

Putting the final touches to this 5 house development in Little Paxton, by .co.uk, where I have been project managing the soft landscaping. Plants are all in, beautiful estate fencing is being erected this week by Mike .boots.landscaping, grass seed down, just wishing for some rain now!

Had a lovely day exploring a nursery in Thurning with the SGLD Regional team .co.uk.

Great value plants for retail customers and some very interesting and unusual trees for us garden designers to select.
