On 11th July 2026, Helen Jerman-Crandon, Cerianne James and Ceri Robins Jones will take on Trek26 Cotswolds; a 13-mile walk to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society.

Dementia affects millions of people and families, bringing daily challenges that can be difficult to imagine unless you’ve experienced them personally.

Three members of our lovely team are taking on a challenge close to many people’s hearts.

Helen Jerman-Crandon, Cerianne James and Ceri Robins Jones - Team Trek & Tonic - will be walking 13 miles through the Cotswolds as part of Trek26, raising money for Alzheimer’s Society on 11th July.

It’s something that Helen, Cerianne and Ceri are doing in their own time to support a cause that helps people living with dementia, and their families.

They’re aiming to raise £500, and every donation will help Alzheimer’s Society continue its vital work.

One of the most important clarifications within the new Martyn’s Law Statutory Guidance relates to the role of the “Responsible Person”.

Why?

Because responsibility is determined by operational control, not simply ownership.

For many shopping centres, managed estates, mixed-use developments, and multi-occupied commercial buildings, this could place Facilities Management providers and managing agents much closer to the centre of compliance than originally expected.

In practice, this means organisations should now begin considering:

• Who controls day-to-day site operations
• How emergency procedures are coordinated
• Where responsibilities overlap across occupiers and stakeholders
• Whether arrangements are practical and workable in real-world scenarios

The good news is that the legislation remains proportionate and risk-based.

This is not about implementing unnecessary measures, it’s about building clarity, coordination, and defensible decision-making.
