Our teams had several client & site meetings yesterday in Cardiff, and the city’s reputation as a green one was in full bloom ☀️
We took a moment to take in the fantastic greenery and biophilia the city centre has to offer; from tree-lined streets to vibrant public spaces that make Cardiff such a refreshing place to work & visit.

“Biophilia is the innate human tendency to seek connections with nature and other forms of life. Derived from Greek, it translates literally as “love of life”. The concept suggests our affinity for the natural world is deeply rooted in our biology and evolutionary heritage.”

✳️✳️ UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH WALES STUDENT MENTORING 2026 ✳️✳️

Last week we finalised our mentoring & collaborative work with the University of South Wales Prifysgol De Cymru 2026 Interior Design ‘2nd year Degree students’ 😊

After an initial ‘design development’ workshop & visit to the Atrium building, Cardiff, it was great to the see the projects at completion stage 👏👏👏👏

A busy morning started with a showroom tour, a talk focusing on CBOF’s work & experiences, offers & our research into design matters plus discussions around our furniture reuse service & ‘Sustain’ engagement. Following this we jumped into the individual presentations and as always some nibbles help to keep up the energy 😊🍪☕🍓🍇

Jon Foster & Emily Hart from CBOF’s design team attended the session with the group and thoroughly enjoyed seeing the final presentations & ideas shared again this year 👏👏

The building choice for the second year running was the ‘Dock Offices’ in Barry, Vale of Glamorgan Council – a building CBOF are very familiar with as we have been working there for several months since last year’s student visit.........a fantastic range of ideas presented to demonstrate the potential future uses of the building 👏

Thanks again / diolch yn fawr eto to all of the students for coming to see us and to the Uni team for this year’s collaboration...
Really great to meet the next generation of designers & creatives and see the talent & ideas coming through. Hopefully we’ll catch up with everyone again at the Uni end of year on June 5th📅

🎨 Finishes Workshop Wednesday 🎨

It’s been a busy and productive week of design development, client collaboration and finalising colour schemes across a number of projects.

On Monday, we were on site in Cardiff city centre working closely with the client team to refine and agree the final colour palette for an exciting upcoming project. Seeing the materials, finishes, and tones come together within the space is always a valuable part of the process and helps ensure every detail feels considered & cohesive...... ✅

Yesterday our team Jon Saunders, Emily Hart & Jon Foster hosted another collaborative day & client workshop for a project kicking off in the coming months.
It’s great to see both schemes progressing well and gaining momentum as they move towards the next stages...much more to follow 😊

Exciting progress on a number of new colour schemes currently in development!

Our team Sharon Clement, Emily Hart and Jon Foster - were on site today delivering a collaborative Finishes & Colour Scheme Workshop with our client 😊
These sessions are a great opportunity to explore ideas, refine palettes and ensure the final fit-out & furniture scheme truly reflects the client’s brand and vision.

We’re looking forward to bringing the concept to life over the coming weeks.......watch this space 👀

Great momentum this morning as our partnership with ‘Sustain’ and The Senator Group continues. A number of bags have already been filled & will now be returned to Sustain’s plant, where the materials will be recycled and repurposed for reuse, helping to reduce waste and support a more circular approach to sustainability ✅ 🌍

Following our recent engagement with the 2nd year Interior Design students at University of South Wales | Prifysgol De Cymru we are really looking forward to seeing how the schemes have developed...............good luck / pob lwc with finalising the work & we’ll see everyone at our showroom very soon😊

🍻🍸🎯 It’s not all work, work, work..... 🍻🍸🎯

It’s been a few months since our last ‘CBOF-Social’ and team-building get-together, so on Saturday night we swapped our desktops for darts and shuffleboard 😊

A fantastic evening was had by all at Boom Battle Bar Cardiff 🥌🎯😄 starting with drinks in the late afternoon sunshine, followed by darts, street food, and some very competitive shuffleboard team games to round off the night!
Great fun, lots of laughs and a brilliant evening with the team...and big thanks also to Jimmy White who joined us for the evening 👍😊

🎇 New Case Study – Cu***ng Group, Manchester 🎇
 
We recently shared a teaser of an exciting project we’ve been delivering for the Cu***ng Group UK & Europe in central Manchester & we’re proud to unveil the finished result after many months of collaboration & workshops with the client team, marking this a significant new chapter for the team in the city 🏙️

The new workplace brings the Manchester teams together under one roof in the heart of the city centre, creating a dynamic environment designed to support collaboration, connection & continued growth.
CBOF group were proud to support the client & wider project team with a comprehensive furniture & fittings package, working from early-stage concepts through to final logistical installation.
 
Scope of works included:
☑️ Full loose furniture specification & in-house supply & installation, including informal areas, workstations, task seating, meeting space & social settings.
☑️ A complete furniture portfolio featuring products from Allermuir, The Senator Group, Bisley, Clarke Rendall Business Furniture Limited, JDD | Joint Design Direction, ØRN Furniture & others.
☑️ Bespoke joinery package including a main reception desk, sliding barn-effect doors dividing the teapoint & breakout space, an industrial hanging frame over the drinks bar & integrated shelving features.
☑️ All works managed & completed by our CBOF Group in-house carpentry & furniture teams.
 
The project was delivered and installed by our dedicated CBOF Group team, who were based in Manchester for a period to ensure a seamless delivery. Special thanks to Workplace Consultant Sharon Clement for her dedication & commitment throughout the journey of this project and to Project Manager Jonathan Rossiter for expertly orchestrating the delivery & working closely with all teams involved 👏
