Bonfire Night is a time for celebration, but the week around 5 November is the biggest fire-risk period of the autumn.
Most homes have a smoke alarm, but a smoke alarm alone may not cover every situation. Heat can rise quickly, smoke alarms can take time to react, and if nobody is home, a local alarm may simply make a noise with no one there to hear it.
Extra protection can include:
• Heat detection for faster warning when temperatures rise
• Monitored fire signalling that sends an alert to a response centre
• Fire detection linked to your existing intruder alarm system
Fire safety systems should also be tested and maintained regularly by an approved company to help ensure they work when needed.
If you are a homeowner or business owner across Chesham, Amersham, Watford, High Wycombe or the wider South East, ask Town & Country about fire safety cover before Bonfire Night.
