An Acquired Brain Injury is a brain injury that has occurred since birth.

It may be the result of a traumatic injury caused by an accident such as a fall, an assault or a road traffic accident or it may be the result of a medical condition such as a stroke or an infection.

The effects range from short term minor problems to catastrophic life changing major problems.
