I often battle against those online programme promises of 'Big Dream' results. Sometimes the training and knowledge but most have no or little implementation.

This means that the attendees have a file full of knowledge, which then just sits there because they have no idea on the next steps to implement what they have learned.

This so frustrates me. How about you?

Running a business can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also be lonely.

As business owners, we're often expected to have all the answers, stay strong under pressure, and keep moving forward no matter what challenges arise. For many men, that pressure can feel even heavier when there's a belief that they should simply "get on with it" rather than ask for help.

The reality is that many men are struggling in silence.

According to the BUPA Wellbeing Index:

📊 50% of men have struggled with mental health difficulties at some point, yet fewer than half have sought medical advice.

📊 37% of UK men admit to actively hiding their mental health issues from their partners.

📊 30% say they don't know where to turn for advice or support.

If you're a business owner feeling isolated, overwhelmed, or under pressure, you're not alone. In fact, many of the successful business owners you admire have faced exactly the same challenges.

One of the greatest benefits of coaching, mentoring, and business communities is having people around you who understand the journey and provide support when you need it most.

This Men's Health Week, let's remind ourselves and others that asking for support isn't a sign of weakness, it's a sign of strength.

Who do you turn to when business gets tough?

15/06/2026

This week I'm sharing one of the most powerful tools I've ever used in business and in life — the One Page Strategic Plan from Verne Harnish's book, Mastering the Rockefeller Habits.

I first came across this plan when I was running my construction business, and I used it to map out five big dreams I wanted to achieve over 20 years. I knocked eight years off that timeline. Yes — I beat my own plan.

The magic of this plan is in its simplicity and its structure. You start with your purpose, values, and Big Hairy Audacious Goal (your dream), and then you work backwards — asking yourself what you need to achieve in 10–20 years, then 3–5 years, then 12 months, and finally what do you need to do in the next 90 days?

Think of it as your treasure map. There will always be pirates — people, circumstances, and distractions trying to steal your dreams — but when you have the map, you can navigate around them and get back on course.

Key Takeaways:
Dreams without a plan are just wishes — you need a roadmap
Work backwards from your big goal to find your next 90-day actions
Your quarterly priorities are what keep you on track
When life knocks you off course, the plan gets you back on it fast
Think big, dream big, believe big — and the results will be big

Check out Mastering the Rockefeller Habits by Verne Harnish — he also offers free templates on his website, many of which are white-label and can be shared with your own clients.

🤍 It’s Loneliness Awareness Week 🤍

Let’s be honest, being a business owner can sometimes feel lonely.

When you’re the one making all the decisions, carrying the responsibility, and pushing forward every day, it can feel like no one else really gets it. You can be surrounded by people… and still feel alone.

That’s why having a support network is so important. Whether it’s a mentor, business buddy, coach, or a group of like-minded entrepreneurs, building those connections can make the tough days feel a little lighter and the wins feel even better.

👥 Have you built your network yet?
Who do you turn to when things get tough or when you just need someone who understands?

If you’re still finding your people, you’re not alone. There are amazing communities out there (and this could be one of them 💚). https://www.facebook.com/groups/CoachSuccessCommunity

Are you still saying things like…

“I’ll just do it cheaper this time…”
“I don’t think they’ll pay that…”
“I’ll match the market…”

That’s not a strategy, that’s survival mode, and it’s costing you more than you think.

If you want to build a business that actually works for you, you need to get your pricing right.

As many of you know, I coach other coaches. One of these Harlan Hammack had a dream of packing up and spending a year roaming the USA in his Wrangler, with his wife, visiting incredible places that in the past they had just passed by.

Harlan realised that dream, spent an extended time roaming, created so many memories and sent me so many photos of the amazing places and things he saw.

That's how you live out your dream - have a clear vision of it, one which you can turn into a plan and then act massively on it.

Well done Harlan!

I used to hate delegating a task out to the team, so that I had more time - only then to find it boomeranging back on to my desk.

This is why I am running an online workshop.

One of the biggest mistakes I see business owners and coaches make is having dreams that are simply too vague. They know they want "more", but without enough emotion, clarity, and detail behind the vision, those dreams never become reality. In this quick live video I share why this happens and how to turn wishful thinking into purposeful action.

One of my biggest weaknesses is being distracted by new shinny things.

Who else has this?

This week I'm continuing our theme around dreams — how big is your dream, how clear is your dream, and what are you doing to bring it to life? And to support that, I'm recommending a book that I genuinely believe can help you build the clarity and the foundations you need: Be Useful: Seven Tools for Life by Arnold Schwarzenegger.

I've always loved Arnie's first book, Total Recall, for its lessons on making a plan and sticking to it. Be Useful takes that a step further — it gives you practical, solid tools drawn from his remarkable life as a bodybuilder, actor, and politician. Whether you're a fan of Arnie or not, the lessons in here are real and they're relevant.

The one truth that runs through the whole book? There is no substitute for putting in the work. No shortcuts, no growth hacks, no magic pills. Just consistent, focused effort towards the things that matter most to you.

My takeaways for you this week:
* Your big, bold, audacious dreams deserve a real plan — and the commitment to follow it
* Hard work is the only thing that works 100% of the time for 100% of the things worth achieving
* There will be nuggets in this book for everyone — even if you don't agree with every word

Pick it up, read it or listen to it, and let me know what you think in the comments. And if you have a book recommendation of your own that's helped you live your dream, please share it below!

Last week we explored Life's Golden Ticket by Brendon Burchard — the dream-building theme continues!
