We are the only UK preparation company that deal solely with carnets . The company was established by John Copleston, John used to manage the ITN shipping department. In October 1988 John was given the opportunity to set up his own company, continuing to operate ITN’s shipping requirements and preparing the ATA carnets needed for the ITN camera crew, which we still do to this day. As time went on,

our client base grew, and now we prepare carnets and offer a complete ATA carnet management service for a wide range of companies, such as TV production companies, freelance photographers, magazines, exhibition companies, freight agents, theatre companies, and fashion designers. This meant that we had to move to our current larger premises in 1998, situated less than two miles from the London Chamber’s Queen Street Head Office, allowing us to quickly collect carnets once they have been issued. In December 2014 John made the decision to retire , leaving Jane & Tracy to take over the management of COPS DOCS Ltd .

It has been bought to our attention that at some US customs offices an appointment is required to process the carnet at your point of export from the USA , we would advise anyone travelling with a carnet to enquire if this will be required when you import the USA . What is an ATA Carnet?
An ATA carnet, or carnet, is an international Customs document, issued by a Chamber of Commerce.
It allows the holder of the carnet to temporarily import goods, free of Customs duties, taxes etc, into any of the countries that are members of the ATA carnet scheme. For a list of countries please visit our website .

It is not a legal requirement, and there are other methods of temporarily importing goods into foreign countries, but these can be costly and time consuming.
