Our guest speaker, Stephen Pickup will give us an update from the Fire Brigade's perspective of the situation post-Grenfell, so will be very informative.

Tomorrow sees The Building Safety Levy come into force on October 1, 2026.

What does this mean for you?

This is a new UK Government tax on new residential developments in England, designed to raise £3.4 billion over ten years to fund the remediation of fire safety and cladding defects in high-rise and residential buildings.

The levy applies to major residential developments, ie ten or more dwellings or thirty or more bedspaces for student accommodation.
