The nights are drawing in and it makes it so much harder to get out on a soggy dark evening but at Spark it’s always worth it, even if it is half term!
The image below with the robin, the flock of geese and the crescent moon actually happened and is very revelant for what I’m about to tell you.
At last night’s meeting I asked a question: can you share your biggest win and your biggest lesson? We had some great responses, - what would you have said?
I didn’t have an answer myself as it is my job is to host, but the group wanted to hear me answer too, so what came to me as an answer for my biggest lesson was a snapshot of something that happened to me a couple of days ago.
I was preparing to go out for the evening and just happened to look out of my window. Staring straight back at me was a robin, sitting on a branch. Above the Robin was a flock of geese flying onwards and upwards, and above them was a beautiful crescent moon. I took a snapshot in my mind as this felt like a symbolic, magical moment to me.
It has been said that seeing a robin can represent someone you have lost. Having lost my mum, my younger brother and my dear Gran all in a decade, through the tough emotions and loss, I learned that life is short and we need to stop getting in our own way and aim for the moon. It’s as simple as that but also has so much meaning and possibilities when you dive into that concept.
And this little moment was a big reminder for me. After what has been a tough year with many hurdles to overcome- and they just kept coming! ….This snapshot, this magic moment reminded me of the bigger lesson I learned years ago.
And it reminds me of why I do what I do and why. And it fills me with hope and drive to keep going.
I hope at least one person gets something from my deeply personal share today.
Sending love and light 🤍✨
