Wine-tasting in the beautiful English countryside, what a lovely way for a group of hens to celebrate their friend’s forthcoming wedding.

The weather was great so this wine tasting was held in the garden. The theme was “blind wine bluff”, wines poured with labels covered and two different descriptions offered.

in teams you’re invited to decide which is correct.

Great fun and not as hard as you might think!

Everyone had a great time and the venue - couldn’t have been a better spot.

Our next WSET Level 2 starts in September.

Before and after! 12 lovely wines including Franciacorta, Lambrusco, Chianti and Barolo. Then with some guests, more wine in the venue. I think I’ve converted a few more people to Barolo 🍷😍, as that’s what we were drinking afterwards (not working now!).

Shropshire Wine School is part of something much bigger - the Local Wine School network. Yes there are over 25 of us across the country, all passionate about wine and all dedicated to sharing our knowledge of, and passion for, wine.

This year we met up at in their amazing central Leeds location. Thanks to Laura and her team for their hosting.

We have some big plans to make our wine experiences even better and of course with this many wine educators together we spent the afternoon tasting wine with some input from our old friend Justin Martindale MW.

Pride of place was our award for best consumer wine communicator!

The discussions and “tasting” 😉🍷 continued into the evening.
