🎤 This week’s featured presentation: Lyndal from Value Creators!

🎤 Last Thursdays 10-minute spotlight at BNI Selwyn was Lynne Dent from The Mortgage Lab! 🏡

Lynne took us inside what's really happening in the mortgage world right now, and there was plenty for our members to take away. Whether you're buying your first home, growing a property portfolio, or supporting clients who are.

A few highlights from Lynne's update:

💡 The triple CCCFA rules have loosened, this means more clients are now eligible for approval, and the process is moving faster than it has in a long time.

🎤 This week's featured presentation: Sarah from MTF Finance Rolleston!

Sarah gave our group a great rundown on what MTF Finance does and honestly, if you've only ever thought of them as a car loan company, think again.

🎤 This week's featured presentation: Christian Pinkney from Corcoran French Lawyers!
Christian gave our group one of the most engaging presentations we've had in a while, walking us through a mock employment scenario that showed just how quickly things can go wrong when changes are made in a business without the right legal advice.
The scenario was eye-opening. What might seem like a straightforward staffing or workplace change can involve a web of obligations under employment law, and the consequences of getting it wrong as an employer can be significant, both financially and reputationally.
The key takeaway? Talk to a lawyer before you make changes, not after.
Christian is a litigation lawyer at Corcoran French with a practice covering employment, debt recovery, ACC, insolvency and dispute resolution, and Corcoran French has been serving Canterbury clients for over 130 years, so this is a team that really knows its stuff.

🎤 This week's featured presentation: Hayden Crocker from Crocker Fabrication!
Hayden gave our group a brilliant insight into the world of custom metal fabrication and it's a lot more varied than you might think.
Working across steel, stainless steel and aluminium, Hayden offers bespoke fabrication for pretty much anything metal. Gates, trailers, fire guards, brackets, structural pieces and more. His client list is equally diverse, builders, homeowners, electricians and landscapers all turn to him when they need something made right.
What really stood out was Hayden's background. He has worked across cement testing during major Auckland builds, architectural aluminium, and operations management before starting to contract on the side in 2016 and going fully independent by 2023. That breadth of experience means he genuinely understands fabrication from every angle.

This week’s featured presentation: Sam Baker from Selwyn & Canterbury Insurance Advisers!
Sam gave our group a great overview of what he does and honestly, commercial insurance is one of those things most business owners don’t think about until something goes wrong.
