Class A & Class B Asbestos Removal
Location: Christchurch, Canterbury

Are you an experienced asbestos removal professional looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking qualified Class A and Class B Asbestos Removal personnel to join a growing team delivering safe, compliant, and high-quality asbestos remediation projects across Christchurch and the wider Canterbury region.

About the Role

Working on residential, commercial, and industrial sites, you will be responsible for the safe removal, handling, and disposal of asbestos-containing materials in accordance with New Zealand regulations and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities
Carry out Class A and Class B asbestos removal work safely and efficiently.
Set up and maintain containment areas and decontamination units.
Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures.
Conduct site preparation, removal, cleaning, and waste management activities.
Complete documentation and compliance records accurately.
Work collaboratively with supervisors, clients, and project teams.
Skills & Experience Required
Current Class A and/or Class B Asbestos Removal Certification.
Proven asbestos removal experience in residential, commercial, or industrial environments.
Strong understanding of WorkSafe NZ regulations and asbestos management procedures.
Experience using PPE, RPE, negative pressure units, and decontamination systems.
Ability to read and follow asbestos removal control plans.
Physically fit and capable of performing manual work.
Reliable, safety-focused, and professional attitude.
Full New Zealand Driver Licence preferred.

Ahikā Recruitment is seeking a reliable and hardworking Class 2 Driver / Labourer for a full-time position based in Christchurch.

This is a varied, hands-on role combining Class 2 driving duties with general labouring work. The successful candidate will be physically fit, safety-focused, and willing to get stuck in as part of a hardworking team.

Key Responsibilities
Safely operate Class 2 vehicles
Load, transport, and unload materials and equipment
Carry out general labouring duties as required
Follow all health and safety procedures
Work effectively as part of a team
Requirements
Current NZ Class 2 Driver Licence
Previous driving and/or labouring experience preferred
Physically fit and capable of manual work
Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
Good communication skills
Able to pass pre-employment checks if required
