We also met the lovely Lavish, who assists him - she's a Riesling lover and she had a big smile when tasting our Limelight Riesling

The owner of the company is art and sound lover, so after we tasted through our range of wines we viewed the gallery and also saw some incredible sound equipment. Andy also found his dream sofa - the rear of a Porsche car!

We are delighted that Johnny loved the wines and already has selected some including for their own restaurant space!!

In the Zhongshan District of Taipei is Waing, which specialises in Japanese Western fusion 和韵 WAING.

It's a private dining space and to match its innovative cuisine, there is a strong focus on New Zealand wine pairings. We felt right at home in the cozy atmosphere. A perfect place for a Misha's Vineyard wine dinner!!

Thanks to Mark Cheng and Rita Lee at New Wine Estate 紐玩生活 for finding such a perfect place to reconnect with many of our VIP wine fans! Many of the group have been at our wine dinners, and all our close to Rita and Mark. So it felt like a dinner of old friends!

We were invited to present a two-hour Masterclass at the 台灣酒研學苑 Taiwan Wine Academy. So in conjunction with Mark Cheng (who is also our amazing translator) and Rita Lee who organises all the wines) both of whom run New Wine Estate 紐玩生活 we had a wonderful session with a group of over 20 highly engaged attendees.

We always start with a few slides on the New Zealand wine industry - its history, regions, varieties and the importance to our economy, then show the New Zealand Winegrowers video, talk about sustainability, and then explain what makes Central Otago such a special and unique region. And then we taste some wines!! :)

After the session we had some great questions. We were delighted that Vincent Lu 覓覓客的左腳 wine educator and blogger could also join our session.

On our second day in Taiwan we took the High Speed Rail down to Taichung then went to the Intercontinental Taichung. Hotel Sommelier Ricky Tsai had planned a special pairing dinner with our Misha's Vineyard wines and Hot Pot at the beautiful hotel restaurant 采月鍋品 Cai Yue Hot Pot.

In the VIP Room, these guests were treated to a sensational evening with spectacularly presented seafood platters and delicious hotpot with Ricky explaining his wine matches with the different courses.

We are delighted that the InterContinental Taichung will be serving one of our Pinot Noirs by the glass across the hotel.

So what do you do on a rainy Saturday afternoon in Taipei? Go wine tasting of course! Whilst an Australia/New Zealand tasting was happening upstairs at our distributor's salon, we were downstairs in the lounge showcasing how Central Otago wines age.

We tasted the current releases against older examples including a 2013 The Starlet Sauvignon Blanc, a 2012 Limelight Riesling and a 2010 Verismo Pinot Noir. All still drinking magnificently, it was wonderful see these older wines ageing so gracefully!

We arrived in Taipei just in time for a tasting of Australian and New Zealand wines at our distributor's salon in the Da'an district. These pics were at the beginning of the tasting - it got really busy very quickly but we headed downstairs to present our Masterclass.
