Macaulay is the largest locally owned metal recycling business in New Zealand. They specialise in transforming end-of-life materials, taken from demolition sites or scrap recovery projects.

This new Hino FC 1124 has been added to their fleet, chosen for its great payload and deck length. This unit is 11-tonne GVM with 240hp, is very comfortable and fuel efficient, and packed with Driver Safety Features. It has a day cab which gives an additional 500mm of deck length without compromising the wheelbase or turning circle — great for tight spaces in the Wellington region.

This new Hino septic truck for WestReef Services Ltd in Westport was handed over by Hino Sales Account Manager, Jason Maxted, earlier this year — and it looks the biz!

The unit was built by Danz Engineering who sure know how to build a vacuum hydro sucking machine. This one has a septic capacity of 5,500 litres on the back, 800 litres of water for the water blaster / drain chaser, plus 60m of hoses contained on the truck for hard-to-reach tanks.

WestReef's Workshop Manager, Stephen Crackett, says they've "[...] currently seen around a 40% reduction in the time it takes to suck tanks compared to the older unit it's replacing. It has been out working, and we are rapt with its performance!"
