Even where conduct appears serious enough to justify dismissal, employers still need to follow a fair and reasonable process.
That means investigating the allegations, providing the employee with the relevant information, allowing them a genuine opportunity to respond, and carefully considering their explanation before making any decision.
Sometimes the biggest risk isn't what the employee did. It's what the employer did (or didn't) do.
