🍷 Celebrate International Pinot Noir Day! 🍷

This 18 August, we’re raising a glass to one of the world’s most captivating varieties — Pinot Noir — and to our very own 2024 Nga Waka Pinot Noir, recently awarded an outstanding 94 points by Cam Douglas.

Described as complex, ripe and pure-fruited, this elegant Martinborough Pinot Noir reveals layers of dark raspberry, black cherry, plum, clove, vanilla, violet and wild flowers.

Taut and dry, with vibrant acidity, tension and power, it finishes long and beautifully poised — with plenty of promise for the years ahead.

We’re incredibly proud of this vintage and the way it captures the unique character of Martinborough, Wairarapa — a place we’re proud to call home.

🍕 Final few weeks of pizza before our winter break! 🍷

If you’ve been thinking about joining us for a pizza from Roving_Pizza, a glass of our award-winning wines, or a tasting of our latest vintage releases, now’s the perfect time to visit.

From Wednesday 12 August to Tuesday 25 August, both our Cellar Door and Roving_Pizza will be taking a short winter break while we complete some exciting venue upgrades, carry out essential maintenance, and give our amazing team a well-deserved rest before the busy summer season.

The safety of our staff, customers, and community comes first. With access to Martinborough still affected, we've made the decision to remain closed until it's safe to reopen.

With Martinborough still very difficult to access with majority of roads still closed due to the weather over the last few days we have made the decision to also remain closed today.

We look forward to coming back fresh and ready to go next week for wine and pizza 🍷🍕

💧🌧️ Due to the wild weather and road closures in and out of Martinborough, our Cellar Door will be closed today.

Most of our team travel from out of town, and it's not safe for them to be on the roads today.

We're keeping our fingers crossed that conditions improve and we'll be back tomorrow, serving excellent wine and pizza as usual. 🍷🍕

We’re thrilled to announce that our Nga Waka Pinot Noir 2024 has received **94/100 points** and an **Excellent** rating from Cameron Douglas MS. ⭐️

“A youthful wine with tension and power, ripe red berry fruits and a lengthy youthful finish. Best drinking from 2028–2036+.”

This recognition is a wonderful reflection of the character, quality, and promise of the 2024 vintage.

We look forward to seeing how this wine evolves over the years ahead 🍷

☀️ Sustainable winemaking powered by the sun! 🍇

We’re excited to share the successful installation of our new solar system by Hoskins Energy.

These solar panels now generate more than 80% of the power required for both our winery and cellar door, helping us reduce our environmental footprint while continuing to produce and share great wines.

A big thank you to the team at Hoskins Energy for their professionalism and expertise throughout the project.
