It's encouraging to see the PNG Government continue a 6 months extension from June to December 2026 for GST Exemption on selected essential items, which sanitary pads, tampons and soap are included.

We applaud the recognition and support towards promoting menstrual equity for women and young girls in PNG one step forward amidst economical challenges.

When purchasing sanitary pads, tampons and soap in shops, the prices should exclude 10% GST. This includes our lovely reusable QueenPads, too, at selected City Pharmacy shops nationwide.

Thank you Sir Brian Bell Foundation for all you do for PNG. Your support to organizations like ours is the reason why we continue to reach more Queens, breaking barriers and silence to educate them on the importance of Menstrual Health and Hygiene management. We are grateful to be a part of the Sir Brian Bell Foundation family, and look forward to more impact together.

Happy 10th Birthday 🎉💙💛

CELEBRATING 10 YEARS SUPPORTING HEALTH AND EDUCATION.

As we mark a decade of service to communities across Papua New Guinea, we pause to reflect on how far we have come, express gratitude to the people who made it possible, and remember Sir Brian Bell, whose deep love for PNG continues to inspire everything we do. Over the past ten years, the Sir Brian Bell Foundation has reached meaningful milestones, but our purpose has always been bigger than any single achievement. It’s about people and building stronger, healthier communities through education and access to vital health services. That’s why it feels especially significant to celebrate this anniversary on World Blood Donor Day, which reflects the very spirit we were founded on. Blood is life, and a single donation can save multiple lives, offering hope in moments of urgent need. Every day, across PNG and around the world, patients rely on the generosity of donors they may never meet. On our birthday every year we honour those quiet heroes, the volunteers who give not just their time, but a part of themselves so that others may live. Their compassion reminds us that real change is built on simple, powerful acts of kindness, which motivates us through everything we do.

Thanks to the support of so many individuals and organisations across PNG we are now able to provide support across 22 provinces and working with over 100 partners to deliver health and education initiatives to men, women and children all over the country. Some highlights from the last 10 years we have been able to achieve in the areas of health and education include the opening of Her Health Hub in Port Moresby in partnership with the .foundation to provide affordable same-day cervical cancer testing and treatment to women. Through our partnership with Queenpads we have continued to deliver menstrual Health and hygiene awareness and reusable products for women to use during their special days. AlongsideLiteHaus International we have assisted in the development of 380 computer labs across the country to ensure students and teachers receive a digital education. At the Sir Brian Bell Centre for Transfusion Medicine, we have collected over 90,000 blood donations since opening to support patient needs at the Port Moresby General Hospital. We have also provided first aid basic training to students so they can act should they encounter an emergency in their communities with National St John Ambulance Service PNG, as well as continue to support the Buk bilong Pikinini Library Learning Centres so that little learners receive a quality education. Over 40,000 children just last year alone were also educated to preserve our native plants and animals at the Port Moresby Nature Park, and we are opening a new centre for Eye Health in Port Moresby alongside The Fred Hollows Foundation NZ and partnering with to empower young people with opportunities for personal growth and many many more organisations we are proud to work alongside.

Sir Brian Bell Foundation CEO Bronwyn Wright commented, “The last 10 years have been truly incredible. We are forever proud of the partners we work alongside every day. This is just the beginning. As we look ahead, we remain committed to carrying forward Sir Brian's legacy and continuing to serve the communities that inspire us every day across the country”.

“Today we also say a very special thank you to our loyal customers, Foundation family members and our very own SBBF Support Squad for their continued support so we can continue to provide support to so many people in our community”, concluded Sir Brian Bell Foundation CEO Bronwyn Wright.

On our birthday every year, our Support Squads all over the country come together to give lifesaving blood donations to support communities in need. You can join us by visiting your local blood collection centre. Blood donation is quick, easy and painless, and you may just save a life. Don’t wait, donate.

Thank you, PNG, for your continued support.

Following our recent movement for , here's the 5th most common and most overlooked Menstrual challenges shared by 36 brave Queens post World Menstrual Hygiene Day 2026.

📣Challenge #5 - Continued Period Shame and Stigma

▪︎Impact: Period shame and stigma are barriers to Menstrual Equity and Justice. It hinders freedom of movement, limits confidences and creates fear from "what ifs". This can cause women and girls to miss school or work or participate in the community activities.

▪︎Changes for Menstrual Equity: Sensitise everyone on Menstruation including students, teachers, parents, managers, males included. Teaching menstruation in schools, or encouraging safe spaces for such sensitive conversation in relationships, businesses and communities is essential. The more open conversations around menstruation we can normalise menstruation and end period shame and stigma in our homes, schools, workplaces and community. When everyone understands, shame ends, menstrual needs are prioritized.

It's Team Tuesday!️ And today we are excited about our newest addition to our program team uniforms - Vests️💛

Recently, we sampled and tried on as part of our field uniforms. Slowly and surely, we are learning, adjusting and equipping our team with necessary essentials when out in the communities. And so far, it's doing some justice 🥰

Why Yellow 💛🤔

Well, with Yellow💛....we are strengthening one of our core themes "Menstrual Shine for Action".

While we advocate to inform and educate, we also aim to 💡🔦shine a light on the menstrual inequality and challenges women and young girls face when managing their special days. This we hope translate in collaborative action to address one challenge at a time.

So there you have it, a yellow vest slowly finding it's place, shining and fitting well into our Menstrual program space in PNG.

📣Challenge #4 - Poor access to clean and proper Sanitary Facilities

▪︎Impact: Lacking access to proper WaSH facilities can cause significant health challenges such as being unable to dispose waste, wash your hands or bath which increases the risk for bacterial, reproductive and urinary tract infections.

▪︎Changes for Menstrual Equity: All women and young girls have the right to manage menstruation with dignity. By introducing WaSH initiatives, maintaining WaSH facilitates and awareness materials women and girls would face fewer challenges throughout their Menstrual journey.
