WEnergy Global was delighted to welcome 14 students from Ir. Lely Lyceum Amsterdam, together with their teachers, as part of their Women & Leadership Programme in Singapore on 26 August 2026 at the Hollandse Club Singapore.
During an interactive three-hour session, “Women leading Change” Oesha Thakoerdin, Penny Gan, Denisha Francis Antony and Atem Ramsundersingh shared experiences from working in renewable energy and power-grid infrastructure across Southeast Asia, sectors in which women remain underrepresented.
Our conversations quickly went beyond energy and careers. Together, we explored what leadership means in practice: making decisions when not everything is known, finding the courage to navigate difficult moments, listening to different perspectives, trusting intuition, showing empathy and understanding that meaningful change rarely happens alone.
For us, this was very much a two-way exchange. The students brought curiosity, openness, challenging questions and fresh perspectives, a reminder that learning and leadership are never defined by age or seniority.
At WEnergy Global, our purpose is to bring clean, reliable energy to communities where it is needed most. Creating that future also means making space for young people to explore, question, connect and imagine the solutions still to come.
Thank you to Ir. Lely Lyceum Amsterdam, Annette Bolder-Oorthuysen and Glenn Jadoenathmisier.
To the young women who joined us: stay curious, stay connected and keep asking the questions that move us forward. Together, WE can power change!
