Climate Action Initiatives-Horn of Africa CAI is a Regional Development Organization founded in Aug 2023. The HQ is in Hargeisa, Somaliland The head Quarter of the organization is in Hargeisa Somaliland.

CAI is Regional Development Organization founded in August 2023. CAI also planned to expand its services and offices to the East African countries and the Middle East. CAI, under the Sustainable Development goal 13 (Climate Action), provides programme management and consultancy services on the Climate Action Initiatives to drive change and combat climate change and its impact. The organization con

ducts researches, community outreaches, programme implementations, fund management, networking and coalitions to promote the climate action initiatives and drive change fast. CAI promotes the creation of national and international coalitions for Climate Change Action Initiatives. We convince, challenge and help organizations to make commitments, then turn them into action. We work closely with governments at all levels. The CAI affiliates with civil society groups, private sector and government institutions to speed the Climate Action initiatives with the highest potential for emissions reductions. The CAI mobilizes the governments, businesses and civil society to connect in climate initiatives to speed the pace of climate action in the Horn of Africa. CAI is committed to adopt the Climate Action Initiated at the 2019 Climate Action Summit held at the United Nations, the initiatives are reducing emissions, tackling critical concerns such as jobs and gender equality, unlocking finance, building sustainable infrastructure, using nature-based solutions, and advancing adaptation and climate resilience. CAI adopts the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations, particularly goal 13 of Climate Action. We agree that action in one area will affect outcomes in others, and that development must balance social, economic and environmental sustainability. The CAI is needed more than ever to encourage the horn of Africa communities to collaborate, be ambitious and take actions required to contribute to limit the global temperature rise to no more than 1.5 degrees Celsius. The CAI also stands behind a transition to a sustainable, low-carbon economy that is just and beneficial for all.

Agriculture in Somali communities across the Horn of Africa remains largely traditional—based on rain-fed farming, manual tools, and low productivity. Over the years, many projects and short-term interventions have introduced training, extension services, and farming inputs.

A series of deadly earthquakes have continued in Japan causing roads to collapse and crack.

Roads have collapsed in Noto Peninsula, Japan, swallowing up cars following the most recent 5.5 magnitude earthquake. Over 150 earthquakes have hit Japan since New Year’s Day.

Somaliand Climate Change Conference was held on 21st November 2023 in Hargeisa, Ambassador Hotel. National and international Delegates including official MPs from the Swedish government attended the conference.

"The formulatuion of Somaliland National adaptation Plan is currently ongoing". The Minster of MOECC said.
