The 2026 NEMT Networking Mixer brought providers, industry leaders, partners, and entrepreneurs from across the country together in Orlando, Florida, for a night built around real connections and meaningful conversations.

Hosted by MJ Business Academy and powered by ADA Boy Van Conversions, this was more than a networking event. It was a reminder of what can happen when the NEMT community gets in the same room, shares knowledge, builds relationships, and creates new opportunities.

One thing we’ve learned in this business is that you have to know where to look.

Some providers keep searching for “NEMT contracts,” not realizing that transportation opportunities can be listed under completely different departments. If you only search one term, you may be missing contracts sitting right in your own market.

Starting an NEMT business in California? Hear this before you purchase a vehicle.

In the last 60 days, we’ve seen several providers make the same costly mistake: purchasing a rear entry wheelchair-accessible vehicle before fully understanding California’s requirements for enrolling with Medi-Cal.

That decision could lead to:

• Delayed or denied enrollment
• A vehicle that doesn’t meet approval requirements

That’s exactly why we knew community was needed in this industry.
