In many African and Native American communities, women were the matriarchs — leaders, protectors, and keepers of culture, identity, and lineage.

During slavery in America, some Native American women used that influence to help protect enslaved Africans. They changed their clothing, helped conceal their identities, and guided them back to safety after nightfall — actions that helped many avoid capture and reclaim freedom.

This is a powerful reminder that resistance didn’t always look like what we see in textbooks. Sometimes it looked like protection. Like strategy. Like community.

High Priest Robi shares this overlooked history to highlight the strength, leadership, and legacy of Native American women whose roles shaped generations and protected lives.

Some stories were never meant to be forgotten — they were meant to be rediscovered.

There’s something truly magical about a night at the Myrtle & Rose Rooftop Garden in Savannah, Georgia. Perched right along the iconic Savannah Riverfront, this rooftop garden feels like a little oasis above the city. 🌿✨ The views of the river were absolutely breathtaking—watching the boats glide by while the sun dipped low over the water was pure serenity.

The food was delicious and beautifully presented, but what really made the night special was the atmosphere. There was live music playing softly in the background 🎶, the energy was relaxed yet vibrant, and the whole place had this effortlessly chic garden vibe. Since I’m still not drinking alcohol, I ordered one of their mocktails and it was PERFECT—refreshing, flavorful, and honestly just as fun as any cocktail. 🍹

What makes being there even more special is the history surrounding you. The Savannah riverfront dates all the way back to the 1700s when it was a hub for shipping cotton and other goods. The historic cobblestone streets and restored warehouses along this strip tell the story of one of the oldest port cities in the South. Walking around that area feels like stepping into living history while still enjoying modern luxury.

For me, the whole experience felt like therapy. Sitting above the river, listening to live music, enjoying great food, and soaking in the beauty and history of Savannah—it was the kind of moment that resets your spirit. Sometimes a rooftop view and a good vibe are all the healing you need. 🌅💫

Reunited with my college soul sister this weekend in Charlotte — the one who used to sit beside me in class with highlighters and big dreams… and who I now lovingly call The Oracle 🔮✨

We hadn’t seen each other since she returned from overseas, and somehow the years melted away the moment we hugged. Some friendships don’t age — they evolve 🌿💫

We spent the weekend catching up on old memories (yes, we laughed until we cried 😭), talking about how far we’ve come, and reflecting on all the lessons that shaped us. College versions of us could never have imagined the women we’re becoming.

Between Brunch conversations, 🧇🥗 long walks, and late-night soul talks, we started mapping out new holistic endeavors — wellness, alignment, purpose-driven work, and creating spaces for healing and growth. When two visionaries reconnect, the downloads are real ⚡🌙

It’s powerful to look up and see your friend not just thriving — but transformed. Grounded. Radiant. Clear. The Oracle energy is strong 🔥

I visited Astra Mediterranean Restaurant in Uptown Charlotte this weekend and it did not disappoint! 🙌✨

At first glance, I thought I had walked up to a ho**ah lounge—but don’t worry, there are two separate entrances. Once inside the restaurant, I was blown away. The space is absolutely beautiful—very upscale, cultured, and aesthetically pleasing. The ambiance instantly sets the tone for an elevated dining experience. 🕯️🍽️

The staff welcomed us right away and seated us in one of the best spots in the restaurant. The hospitality was top tier!

I’m currently 45 days alcohol-free, and this was my first outing since I stopped drinking, so I was a little nervous about temptation. I was so aligned to find out they don’t serve alcohol at all—what a relief! 🙏 That made the experience even more enjoyable for me.

I ordered the Habibitt’s Heart mocktail 🍹 (non-alcoholic), and it was delicious—bright, flavorful, and made with a special syrup from their country. So refreshing!

For food, I had:
• Creamy hummus 🫓
• Chicken nachos 🍗
• Salmon with rice and vegetables 🐟🍚 (⚠️ heat alert: the veggies are spicy!)

For dessert, I ordered the cheesecake—but after tasting my friend’s lava chocolate cake 🍫🔥 we had to switch immediately! It was THAT good. Portions are generous—we definitely had leftovers.

If you’re hungry and looking for an elevated Mediterranean dining experience in Uptown Charlotte, I highly recommend Astra. 10/10! 🌟
