Sometimes you have to cut corners… when the customer requests it! 😂

A customer bought a new oven, only to realize the previous home owner had their Corain counters scribed to custom fit the old stove. Well that issue prohibited full use of the adjacent dishwasher as well as a new stove that poked out too far with a 1 1/2” gap behind it.

I squared up the cut for a more universal 30” stove fit.

Bonus of the job was getting to pet some absolutely beautiful English Cream Golden retrievers (forgive me of the breed is wrong 🫣)

Did an outdoor paint job down the street from the “mushroom house” in Cincinnati.

The jobsite home recently had its roof replaced along with some decking that needed painted. I removed any remaining loose paint, primed and put on two coats of outdoor enamel paint.

On perk of my job is meeting so many new and interesting people. The person who contacted me is a masseuse, and her partner is a landscaper who I might need to call for some solid advice on my own home. He also had some thoughtful tips on running a small service business.

Side note:
It’s a good idea to regularly check for wood rot developing on all exterior wood on your home. The roof supports had several questionable areas that could use additional attention before any major issues develop. I’ll be sharing some close up shots with the renters to share with their landlord.

Our master bathroom isn’t exactly ‘finished’, but it’s been functional for a little while. 🥳🥳🥳 You can look back at other posts to see where it started.

It all started because of a failing shower pan. Gutted this room all the way down to the damaged floor joists. Removed the drop ceiling bulkhead above the shower. Repaired, replaced, reframed, re-drywalled.

Went with a polished Dolomite in the shower and a matching matte version on the floor. I read that can make tiny bathrooms feel bigger. I might regret white tile on the floor. 🫣 Good thing I can swap it down the road if I hate it. 😂

Went with a while solid surface shower pan because I just wanted something straightforward super sturdy, and easy to clean. Found a beautiful walnut vanity at Lowe’s, and swapped the top for a sintered stone with a bit more pop than our tiles. I used Moen plumbing fixtures throughout.

I created a custom waterfall mosaic feature using mixed metallic tiles so fixtures could be mixed and matched as we please. However I mostly went with a classic brushed nickel. I did the white at the back of the shower niches, but a small part of me wishes I put some metallic in there. I plan to create a recessed shelf off the vanity to carry the tile detail into the other part of the bathroom.

The mitered niche trim turned out well. The vigo frameless shower door was easy to install and works like a dream. It’s has 3/8” glass.

You can see my pitiful attempt at seeing if plants will survive in that room. The goal is to run mature pothos vines off guide wires along the walls or ceiling. That’s a massive 48” x 36” tall medicine cabinet that also creates an effect of making the room feel bigger.

Stay tuned for a recessed shelf, make up mirror, extra recessed cabinet install, and some kinda better plan for towel bars. 🤪🤷🏻‍♀️ My choices might be weird, but they’re for us. This took me WAY too long, so that’s why I’m not a full blown contractor. 😂😉

Went back to The Breathing Room today. Added these cute double brass hooks on a subtle tonal matching board in their Annex studio. No more coats on the floor! 🥳 Hiding the stud screws turned out pretty well. (Still rough setting in the last photo)

I had the opportunity to work at The Breathing Room. It’s an absolutely beautiful Pilates studio in Hyde Park.

I created a new coat rack that matches others in this hall to replace the brown one.

I repaired an older cracked closet door.

In their bathroom the faucet was tightened up, and then the chipped overflow cover, door handled and toilet seat were all replaced.

A few ceiling tiles were replaced in a studio and I painted them a closer match to the uniform soft tan on the ceiling. Sterile white is definitely note the vibe in such a beautiful studio!

I’ll be returning to create another coat rack for their Annex studio and a custom air plant vase installation. Stay tuned! 🪴

We swung by my mom’s house on a day trip to Indianapolis. I re-installed her kitchen door curtain rod that was falling out of the drywall. She adjusts the curtains daily so I put it securely into studs so it’s not going to come loose again with constant use.

This project ended up being kind of a tag team with Paul McMasters of Hive Home Solutions LLC. He’s based in Indianapolis and knocked out a few things for my mom. He patched and touched up this wall for her since I didn’t have time to stay and do the longer parts. He also hung that new light above her table.

Any of my Indy friends & family should give Paul with Hive Home Solutions LLC a call! 317-804-4483.

SIDE NOTE: my kids go back to school this week🥳🥳🥳🥳 So that will make things a lot easier to get to everyone between now and June! Now would be a great time to start tackling anything you might want to take care of before cold weather or holidays.

Mini upgrade:
The older faucet kept coming loose so I put in a new one. Now I just need to get a soap pump for the old sprayer spot and connect it to a jumbo bottle of dish soap.

Shoutout to for getting our own house a long overdue refresh! The sides and back are aluminum and were sun fading badly after 20+yrs. We had them come and match it back to the front vinyl color. They even checked out a tight spot on the front that looked questionable and confirmed it’s fine and got it painted. It’s going to be so much nicer not seeing the sun beaten west side as we arrive home. It’s not looking like a weird peachy color as the original dark brown has been showing through.

is great to call if you have bigger painting, staining, and drywall needs. I can do those things as well, but a crew will take care of your big stuff MUCH faster if you have a significant amount of work like this.

Now it’s time to decide on some lean to sheds we desperately need to store some stuff!
