Yesterday evening, staff and members from our agency and the Richmond Volunteer Fire & Rescue Company participated in a pump operations refresher and training orchestrated by East Springfield Captain and Training Officer Mike Allan. Crews spent the evening, despite the heat, assuring their skills were sharp for when the call for help comes.

East Springfield Staff are at Spring Hills Golf Course today supporting our friends at Unionport Vol Fire Dept. for their annual Golf Scramble. Here’s to a day of yelling “four” a lot, shanks and good times! ⛳️🏌🏻

You may see something different sitting in our bays for a few days or on any fire runs. It’s a blue fire engine that says Unionport.

Today, our beloved Engine 18 had to go away for some repairs for a few days and our friends and family at the Unionport Vol Fire Dept. were gracious enough to lend us their engine to assure our residents were still getting the proper coverage and protection they deserve. Please if you see a Unionport Fire Department member thank them for this courteous gesture. Thank you Chief Ingram and staff for doing this. Much love. 💙

🎃👻 Halloween is coming to East Springfield, and we’ve got a whole evening of family fun planned!

On Saturday, October 31, 2026, the East Springfield Fire Department, in partnership with the East Springfield Community Center, invites everyone out for the East Springfield Halloween Extravaganza! 🦇🕷️

We’re kicking things off from 4:00 PM–6:00 PM by bringing back door-to-door Trick or Treat in East Springfield! 🍬 Grab the kids, get those costumes ready, and enjoy some good old-fashioned Halloween fun around town.

From 5:00 PM–6:00 PM, be sure to stop by Christ United Methodist Church for their Trunk or Treat and add even more goodies to those candy buckets! 🚗🍫

Then at 6:30 PM, everyone is invited to the East Springfield Fire Department for our big Halloween Party at the Firehouse! 🔥👻 The evening will feature awards, a cake walk, Halloween music, a bonfire to roast s’mores and hot dogs on, food and drinks, and a HAUNTED HOUSE! 🏚️🎃
