Starting the weekend the right way.
After a full day’s work, Christopher Christie, Managing Member of Able Locksmiths, LLC, headed straight to the Vietnam War Veterans Monument on S. Walnut Street to volunteer with local area beautification efforts.
As Post Commander of VFW Post 1936, Chris worked alongside fellow VFW members and Auxiliary volunteers to maintain and honor a place that represents sacrifice, service, and remembrance.
For Chris, service didn’t end with the military—it simply changed form.

🌼 Spring Maintenance Tip: Don’t Forget Your Locks 🔐
The first day of spring is when many homeowners start thinking about maintenance — cleaning, repairs, and getting their homes ready for the year ahead.
One thing that often gets overlooked is lock maintenance.
Locks are mechanical devices, and just like anything mechanical, they benefit from a little preventive care.
A small amount of light lubricant such as silicone or other spray lubricants can help:
🔑 Keep keys turning smoothly
🚪 Prevent locks from sticking
🔐 Extend the life of your hardware
In our area, we generally do not recommend graphite, as Maryland’s humidity can cause it to harden inside locks over time. We actually spend a lot of time cleaning excess graphite out of cylinders that have been over-applied.
A little proper maintenance goes a long way toward keeping your locks working reliably.
If you ever have a lock that feels stiff, sticky, or difficult to turn, it may simply need servicing.
