An afternoon of bocce, wine, and views — set against a building with a century of history behind it.

Built in 1908 as the Nervo winery, our Old Stone Building was constructed just two years after the San Francisco earthquake, using basalt block from the nearby Annadel quarry and a reinforced design ahead of its time. When three generations of the Trione family built their winery at Alexander Valley Home Ranch, they made preserving this landmark structure a priority.

Today, it stands restored as a two-story hospitality center, hosting wine club gatherings and special events with sweeping valley views all around — a fitting backdrop for afternoons just like this one.

Fresh off the vine and onto the sorting table — the first stop for every grape that enters our winery. Here, our winemaking crew, John and Juan, carefully sort each cluster by hand, removing any leaves or MOG (material other than grapes) along the way.

It’s a meticulous step, but an essential one — ensuring only the finest fruit moves forward, so its character shines through in every glass.

Harvest has begun — and it came early this year. On Friday, July 31st, our team brought in 1.5 tons of Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, marking our earliest start to harvest yet. Destined for Rosé, the first fruit of the season called for a glass of champagne before the hard work began. Cheers to another beautiful vintage!
