I've been a little busy sharing my thoughts about all kinds of things on other peoples' podcasts.

We've talked social media, raising independent children and sandwich generation stuff.

In it, I get to share life as both a daughter and mother - and certainly there's a lot here that resonates. And I love listening to my daughter talk so I love that Jill invited her to join us.

Once your brand messaging is set, you are positioned to have one-to-one conversations with people who need what you provide. That's where we come in.

While creating and pushing content is an important piece of what we do, so is that back-and-forth.

Heads up Instagram users: news you can use (and should):

On the Meta AI app, a user can tag a public Instagram account and direct the chatbot to create new A.I. photos based on photos from that person’s account.

NOTE: If you have a private account, this does not affect you at this point and you won't be able to find the toggle off button.

How to stop it on public accounts:

1. Log into your account.

2. Click the three lines in the top right to get to "Settings and activity"

3. Scroll down to the "How others can interact with you" section

4. Click on "Sharing and reuse"

5. Scroll down to the section of "Allow people to reuse your content on Instagram with AI features at Meta" and toggle it off on any options you have turned on.

While you're there - if you don't want your content shared you can toggle this off (not recommended for business accounts looking to reach new people).

Look around and make sure all your settings are the way you want them. It's a good idea to check your settings regularly.

Numbers matter but follower numbers never did and now… they really don’t. Do we like when all numbers go up? Of course. But focus on the numbers that actually matter.

Why anyone would have ever thought buying fake followers was a good idea we will never understand.

We once brought on a new client who had nearly 100,000 followers on Facebook. But no one was interacting with the content. The client finally admitted he paid for these followers who were fake accounts. There was nothing we could do. We shut down the page and started over. This would be incredibly hard to rebuild today. So stop focusing on the wrong number and get your head in the game on the right ones.

In between editing content, writing content, dealing with invoices and having client calls, the job of a working mom is never done. We are a full-on UPS Store in this laundry room as we pack up the former intern to move her to the Big Apple. The truck comes today and off this stuff goes!
