Amanda brings more than 15 years of experience working with nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, and human service systems. As a researcher, evaluator, and consultant, she specializes in strategic learning, stakeholder engagement, and organizational development; helping mission-driven teams use data, community voice, and collaborative problem-solving to strengthen their impact.

Juneteenth is so much more than a holiday. It's a challenge.

A challenge to tell the truth about our history. To acknowledge that freedom was delayed for millions of Black Americans. And to recognize that many of the barriers built before 1865 were never fully dismantled…they simply evolved.

At Spur & Sprout, we believe that justice is active. It asks more of us than awareness. More than celebration. More than a carefully crafted statement.

So, we're asking:

👉 Who still faces barriers to opportunity, safety, and belonging?
👉 What systems are we protecting that need to change?
👉 How are we using our time, resources, and influence to create something better?

What’s your favorite part of the grant writing process?

For Spur & Sprout, it’s the strategy behind the ask.

Great grant writing is not just about telling a compelling story. It’s about aligning your work with what funders care about, positioning your request clearly, and making sure the impact is felt on both sides. When that alignment is right, it sets the foundation for a strong partnership, not just a one time award.

We’re proud to support the important work of the Family Health Council of Central Pennsylvania (FHCCP) and the Regional Maternal Health Coalition.

From July 2025 through January 2026, Spur & Sprout partnered on a regional Needs Assessment focused on understanding the unique challenges and circumstances impacting maternal health outcomes across Central Pennsylvania.

The findings from this work will help guide future action planning, strengthen advocacy efforts, align funding and resources, and support regional strategies aimed at reducing maternal morbidity and mortality.
