Last week, I had the honor of being part of something truly special - Built by Her: Stories of Remarkable Latinas in Architecture.
Being included in Latinas in Architecture, Volume III alongside such an incredible group of women is both humbling and inspiring. Each of us brings a unique story and path, and together, we are helping to shape and strengthen the future of our industry.
I am truly grateful to be part of this movement - helping grow the representation of Latinas in architecture, who make up only about 1% of licensed architects in the U.S., and inspiring the next generation of leaders, both women and men.
Thank you to everyone who made this event so meaningful, and to those who continue to support and uplift our voices.
A special thank you to the AIANY Women in Architecture Committee, Rosalind Tsang, Graciela Carrillo for moderating, Alicia Ponce for making this book possible, and Carol Wedge, AIA for your support of Latinas in Architecture.
Grateful as well to share this experience with fellow panelists Elizabeth Pacheco, Angie Arent, Natasha Espada, and all of the co-authors.
It was a beautiful evening of storytelling, connection, and celebration - and a reminder of the power of representation in shaping the built environment.
