Liberty Sports Group mourns the loss of our colleague, advisor, and dear friend Peter Young.

Peter was a giant in the world of sports, but more importantly, he was a generous mentor, a trusted voice, and a true believer in people. His wisdom, storytelling, and love for the business of sport helped shape our company and so many careers along the way.

We are grateful for the years we had with him, for his guidance, and for the friendship he so freely gave. His impact will continue to be felt in everything we build.

Our thoughts are with Peter’s family and all who were fortunate enough to know him.

This week, our team attended the Cheney Brothers, Inc. Food Show in Myrtle Beach, and what an incredible experience it was! From the moment we arrived, the hospitality and professionalism of the Cheney Brothers team—from their President and our reps down through every team member we met along the way—spoke volumes about the culture they’ve built.

With over 400 vendors in attendance, we had the opportunity to connect with new partners and strengthen relationships with longstanding suppliers we’ve worked with nationally for years. The innovation and quality on display were truly remarkable, reinforcing why Cheney Brothers is a leader in the industry.

Of course, no food show would be complete without sampling (far too much) incredible cuisine, followed by an unforgettable dinner at New York Prime. We’re excited about the opportunities ahead as Liberty Sports Group expands further into the Southeastern United States—and we look forward to growing our relationship with Cheney Brothers International in the process!
