To celebrate Proscenium's 15th anniversary, we're sharing 15 of our favorite moments throughout the year. Today, we're looking back at how we turned a corporate keynote into the Academy Awards for Lowe's. Watch this video from our Head of Design, Christian Bayonet.
Every year, Lowe's flies store managers from across the country for their national meeting. Midway through the week, we step in and transform the space for Manager of the Year (MOTY), an awards gala where nominees know they've been nominated (but nobody knows who won).
Christian studied the Grammys and the Oscars and the aesthetic choices other awards shows make to create an elevated atmosphere, then brought that thinking into the Lowe's space through lighting, color palettes, and graphics that swapped daytime energy for awards-night elegance.
Roaming cameras captured nominee reactions while the winners were announced and invited onto the stage, broadcasting faces of surprise and joy to screens throughout the room. The audience became part of the show, just as they would at a televised awards broadcast.
Christian said it beautifully: to have had a hand in what this experience is going to be for these hard-working employees — how it's going to look and how it's going to feel — is something special.
