As Joe Goggins officially stepped into the role of president today, he said it was extra special because "LMA was Dad's favorite."

His father, the late Pat Goggins, served as president of the association from 2001 to 2002.

"LMA people were his kind of people: free-thinking, leaders in their communities and true believers of capitalism," Joe said. "They understood the value of true price discovery. This membership has people with the same core values that build this great country: faith, family and work ethic."

Thanks to our host market, St. Onge Livestock & Newell Sheep Yards, for a fun evening at Spur Creek Saloon & Ranch in Newell, S.D.

The BBQ was top notch, and even some (very suddenly) hold-on-to-your-hats-and-small-children winds couldn't ruin a great time of celebration and contestant draws.

This morning, LMA members and friends toured South Dakota's top tourist attraction. The weather was beautiful and the fellowship unbeatable. After visiting the national memorial, the buses stopped in Keystone for lunch and shopping.
