Maeve’s first Farmer’s Dog meal. This lady is VERY food motivated and I can honestly tell you that she’s even MORE excited than I ever thought possible now that she’s getting the really good stuff (human grade, portioned just for her, food).

We were told that she was dumped & found wandering the woods with eight other dogs. This once unfathomable reality for my sweet girl is no longer.

She’s now loved to the moon & well taken care of.

Feisty, playful & energetic … and sporting a beautiful coat (she’s part Lhasa Apso)

Keep spinning sweet girl.

The Farmer's Dog

After Tillie’s dental surgery earlier this year, I was committed to taking the best possible care of her possible.

She’s the first dog I’ve ever rescued (or more accurately, the first dog to pick me as her person) and I want her to be with me until she’s a little old lady. Keeping her healthy is a top priority. So, fresh, pre-portioned food seemed like an obvious integration to her (and our) lifestyle. And I really love not having to go to the store to pick up a 50lbs bag of dog food.

Plus, she’s a member of the Dande team and I try to make sure everyone who works with me feels taken care of 😉

Psss: if you want to try the The Farmer's Dog too, I have a link in my bio for 60% off your first box.

Stay tuned for Tillie’s sister, Maeve’s, reaction. It’s pretty epic.

One of the hardest adjustment on social for wedding pros right now?

Simplification.
Understating.
Restraint.

If your couples are within the “Gen Z” demographic, they want “say less, see more.”

This is a STRUGGLE because it doesn’t follow the lines of traditional strategic content. We have to tell people all the things, right?

Now, that’s wrong… At least on social. If you have a lot to say, they’ll hear it on video or read it on carousel text. But captions? We’re stripping them WAY down.

They’re skimming captions, so delivering a hook or headline that says it all without any additional caption context is a skill wedding pros need to develop.

Not sure how to do that? We can help…

Every day, without fail, these two take a walk together. They don’t move when they see you coming.
They aren’t distracted by people, cars, dogs.
They meander at their own pace.
They stick to their routine, rain or shine.
They simply do their thing while moving from pond A to pond B.

Wouldn’t it be awesome if we could all run our buiz like the ducks that don’t give a f*ck. No worries about what the other ducks or people are doing.

They’re simply following the course, one waddle at a time.

Consistent. Unconcerned. Unbothered. Effective.

Dande is your duck. The team that keeps your marketing moving, regardless of all noise. You focus on your path, we’ll keep this one to occupied.

Just a reminder to stop comparing your account to other accounts. Everyone’s version of success looks different and you never know what’s going on behind closed doors.

Keep growing. Blooms look different in every season.

Are you using the wrong keywords on Instagram?

Look at keywords as search opportunities. When a couple is looking for something specific, do you want to be found for that? Use those words in your captions.

Also consider that your vocabulary might not be the same. Do a little research to determine how a couple is phrasing what they want, versus how you would describe it.

Simple might be the same as minimal.
Elegant might be the same as romantic.
Classic might be the same as timeless.
Raw might be the same as candid.
Editorial might be the same as flash.
Rustic might be the same as organic.

Understand the intent allows you to incorporate strategic search into your social media posts.

Your website should do the heavy lifting on the brand messaging front.

Your social is an opportunity to pique interest, inspire action and move them through the pipeline. Not carry the entire process.

Appetizer vs entree, K?

Stop dating your content! Sure, couples can see when you haven’t posted on social media in a while, but if you simply pick back up with posting, they’ll soon forget about that break you took. Your new followers won’t know the difference.

If your blog isn’t dated, they don’t know the difference between a post you made today and one you made in 2024, unless you tell them.

Calling out your absence brings attention to the wrong thing. It also leads to a lack of trust and worries about your dependability.

Make the post, not excuses.

What is the difference between entitled and educated? It’s a fine line and it’s up to us to tell clients when they’ve crossed it.

Look at it this way: The HOW vs the WHY. I may not need the nuisances of how a surgeon performs a procedure (I don’t know what a 10 blade is, aside from reference in The Pitt and knowing that information adds zero value to the situation).

But I do want to know why I’m going under the knife and what to expect when it’s over.

In other instances, I may want to know when the job is done (set up is from 2-4 pm) but I have little concern for how or why it’s done a specific way, as long as the end result is what was sold.

Transparency doesn’t have to mean over sharing or over explaining. But it does mean setting expectations and boundaries, and eliminating surprises.

If you’ve provided pertinent information and it’s still not enough, a client may not be for you.

Square crops are out. Let’s adapt our posting parameters, shall we?

If you want saves and shares, keep reading.

Weddings are all about storytelling. And carousels are prime opportunities for visual storytelling.

Whether you’re sharing a specific portion of the day or a recap, carousels provide visual context and storytelling that keep your audience engaged and swiping.

In a world of content over saturation, single image posts aren’t enough. We want more. Gen Z needs more.

With a majority focus for Gen Z being the overall wedding experience, a carousel is the glimpse behind the curtain. A visual representation that tells a more complete and compelling story.

And before you jump to “but what about reels,” we have several clients generating leads on IG regularly, without us posting a single reel.

We’ve been posting carousels, almost exclusively, for the last couple of years. The data shows that they perform better than reels for photo content.

They do really well with photos and videos.

The carousel limit is 20 slides. Do you have to do that every time? Heck no. But a single image post? That’s a no in our book.

The only exception? Timeline announcements for things like availability, hours, promotions, out of office, and emergencies.

Our favorite carousel updates over the last year that you might not know about:

📍Mixed orientation posting: Portraits and horizontals in one carousel, without a square crop

📍Reordering: Decide you want a different cover image? No problem. Accidentally post a reception image before the ceremony? Swap the order!
