Our winemaking team recently paid a visit to the fine folks down at Pisoni Family Vineyards to check in on how the growing season is treating them. The bottom line: 3 weeks ahead of the average season, but there's still time for that to change.

It's a rare day when you get to taste a wine right where it's grown, like our Hospitality team did up on Bootlegger's Hill last week. Even rarer to do it on a (ahem) vintage D6 Cat.

To all who celebrate...Happy International Chardonnay Day.

Every Thursday before Memorial Day, we're as happy as Santa's elves on Christmas. We hope you'll join us in raising a glass to the incredible vineyards we feel lucky to source Chardonnay from. From Hyde to Kent Ritchie to Bootlegger's Hill to Soberanes to Dutton Ranch to Zio Tony, here's to you.

Worth the drive from Monterey County! Collecting the annual allocation of Patz & Hall wines named for their vineyards, and often for the growers themselves, is just one highlight from our annual Growers Luncheon.

Yesterday, we welcomed our winegrowing partners to our winery to taste our bottled 2024s and in-barrel 2025s, discuss how we see the wine industry evolving, and enjoy a great lunch (and some great bottles) together.

Our Director of Winemaking James McCeney and Founder and Owner James Hall led a conversation about what these extraordinary sites give us and how that informs our winemaking, while the growers shared their unique perspectives on what it takes to grow the best fruit possible.

The Growers Luncheon is one of the days we look forward to most throughout the year. And yes, they got their wine!

Our team had a great time volunteering at the Redwood Empire Food Bank! It was a privilege to play a small part in helping alleviate hunger across Sonoma County and the wider North Coast.

(Plus, our years of practice at the winery sorting table during harvest meant that the sweet potatoes never stood a chance.)

Virtual tastin' like it's 2020!

Friday we jumped back on Zoom with some of our further-flung members, and James Hall walked us through our latest member release of 2023 single-vineyard Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from some of the most celebrated vineyard sites we work with: Hyde Vineyard, Bootlegger's Hill, and Gap's Crown. The wines from this exceptional vintage were stunning, and the company was even better. Thanks to all who joined!

Here we go again!

Pruning is well behind us at Chenoweth Ranch and the other vineyards we work with as an unseasonably warm spell settles in over Sonoma and Napa. This unofficial start of the 2026 growing season wakes up the vines and sets the stage for the canopies to come. We can't wait to see how things take shape!

Seven years in the making. Director of Winemaking James McCeney inspects our 2018 Brut Sparkling Rosé fresh off the riddling rack and newly "on point," a fully upside-down bottle position that gathers sediment against the cap ahead of disgorging next month. All this after over eighty months en tirage.

Worth the wait.

The sign finally came, so time to post it. This past fall, our estate vineyard, Maddocks & Green, in the Green Valley of the Russian River Valley was officially certified CCOF Organic. This was no small feat for the vineyard team, requiring strict adherence to CCOF standards and a lot of disciplined farming. But it reflects our commitment to the vineyard, our wines, and the habitats we're a part of.

The first vintages of Maddocks & Green will be released to our members later this year. We can't wait to share more about this special site in the coming months. More soon!

We're happy to announce that our 2023 Kent Ritchie Vineyard Chardonnay just received 93 points from Wine Spectator.

MaryAnn Worobiec writes, "This is polished, with salted butterscotch, wildflower honey and baked apple flavors that are generous and plump. Lemon blossom, pear and grilled pineapple notes are juicy and show some extra oomph on the long, expressive finish. Drink now."

We'd expect nothing less from grapes grown by Kent, a stalwart of the Russian River Valley and someone we're proud to call a partner and friend.
