Only a few days to go and very few Cellar seats remain for our special Women's Month edition of Northern Jazz Sessions at Nitida.

And now…the full band has officially been revealed! 🥁🎹🎸

For this very special afternoon, three exceptional women take the stage:

🎹 Melorie Jane – Piano
🎸 Tiana Amari – Bass
🥁 Chante Phillips – Drums

Three remarkable musicians. One intimate Cellar. And an afternoon dedicated to celebrating the incredible contribution of women in jazz and music.

This is our 3rd Cellar Session at Nitida, and it feels especially fitting that during Women's Month we get to place the spotlight firmly on the talent, creativity and musicianship of women who continue to shape South African music.

Our 3rd Cellar Session at Nitida is almost here, and Melorie Jane has started revealing the incredible women who will be joining her on stage for our special Women’s Month celebration.

Behind every great performance is a story.

Many of the women who grace our stages are not only exceptional musicians—they are mothers, daughters, sisters, educators, composers, mentors, entrepreneurs and aspiring artists. They balance rehearsals with family life, late-night performances with early mornings, and continue to inspire audiences with their passion, resilience and extraordinary talent.

Their contribution to South African music goes far beyond the spotlight. They enrich our culture, preserve our musical heritage and inspire the next generation to dream a little bigger.

As we celebrate Women's Month, let's take a moment to recognise and honour these remarkable women who continue to shape the soundtrack of our lives.

There is something truly special about live jazz. It has the power to tell stories, stir emotions, and bring people together in a way that few art forms can.

This August, we're honoured to welcome the award-winning Melorie Jane to the Nitida Cellar, where she will lead an exceptional all-women ensemble in celebration of Women's Month.

Melorie Jane is one of South Africa's most accomplished contemporary jazz artists, celebrated for her soulful performances, original compositions, and award-winning musicianship. Joining her are a group of outstanding female musicians who continue to shape and inspire the South African jazz landscape.
