A safari, but make it Helderberg. 🦓🌿🍷

Discover an experience that is truly one of a kind in the Helderberg - the Idiom Eco-Safari Drive, where vineyards, indigenous fynbos and wildlife come together against some of the Cape’s most spectacular views.

Climb aboard and journey through the estate’s fynbos reserve and vineyards, keeping an eye out for zebra (quagga), springbok, bontebok and blue wildebeest roaming freely, while taking in sweeping views across False Bay, Table Mountain and the Cape Peninsula. Along the way, your guide will reveal the fascinating ecology of the fynbos biome, Idiom’s approach to sustainable wine production and the conservation work taking place on the estate.

And the experience doesn’t have to end when the safari does…

✨ Make a morning of it: enjoy breakfast at Idiom before your 11:00 Eco-Safari Drive.
✨ Make an afternoon of it: join the 15:00 drive, then settle in for a leisurely lunch afterwards.

The final week of our Winter Warmer Menu is here! ✨

One last week to settle into winter at Idiom, with a menu made for lingering over good food, mountain views and the soft light across the fynbos as the season begins to turn.

Start with the bright blood orange, beetroot & fennel salad, layered with goat’s cheese, rocket, pistachio and pomegranate - or our comforting basil pesto gnocchi with roasted cherry tomatoes, Parmesan and Kalamata olives.

For the main, the veal schnitzel brings all the warmth of the season, served with buttered mash, creamed spinach, baby carrots and a caper, lemon & parsley butter sauce. Or choose the Parmigiana di Melanzane with roasted garlic cream and rocket salad.

Finish with our peach crumble pie, made with grilled peaches and toasted milk ice cream.

At Idiom, the setting is part of the experience - a beautifully considered space framed by the mountains and fynbos gardens, where the architecture opens onto the landscape and the changing light brings something different to every hour.

As we reach the final week of our Winter Warmer Menu, we’re taking one last moment to enjoy the flavours of the colder season before spring begins to make its way in. ✨

On the menu this week: our fresh blood orange, beetroot & fennel salad, layered with goat’s cheese, rocket, pistachio and pomegranate.
