🏡 New working from home rules are now in effect!

As of 26 October 2026, changes to the Clerks Award will introduce new requirements for requesting and documenting working from home arrangements.

For employers, this means reviewing existing policies, ensuring agreements are properly documented and understanding the new requirements.

Flexible working arrangements are becoming increasingly common — but does an employee have an automatic right to work from home or change their hours?

Not necessarily.

There is an important difference between an employee having a right to request a flexible working arrangement and having an automatic right to approval.
