🚨 Important Update – CSIT Increase from 1 July (Minimum Sponsor Salary)

From 1 July, the Core Skills Income Threshold (CSIT) will increase.

💰 New threshold: $79,499 + superannuation
💰 Current threshold: $76,515 + superannuation

The CSIT is the minimum annual salary that an employer must offer to sponsor a worker under the following visa subclasses:
• Subclass 482 (Skills in Demand)
• Subclass 494
• Subclass 186

📌 What does this mean in practice?
• Nominations lodged before 1 July will remain subject to the current threshold of $76,515.
• Nominations lodged on or after 1 July must meet the new threshold of $79,499.

As of today, the Government has doubled the application fee for the Subclass 485 (Temporary Graduate visa):
from $2,300 to $4,600, with no prior notice.

📢 VETASSESS FEES INCREASE – Effective 22 October 2025

From 22 October 2025, application fees for professional and general occupation skills assessments will increase in line with inflation (Consumer Price Index – CPI).

💲 VETASSESS skills assessment fee until today: $1,177 (gst inc)
💲VETASSESS fee from tomorrow: $1,205.6 (gst inc)

The priority processing fee will go up to $907.5

⚠️ This increase does not apply to trade occupation assessments.

👉 Important: Any applications lodged before 22 October 2025 will be charged at the current rates.

🚨 Important Update – English Test Requirements for the 482 Visa 🚨

From 13 September 2025, the Department of Home Affairs has updated the English language requirements for the Skills in Demand (subclass 482) visa.

👉 This change applies to all test score results issued from 13 September 2025 onwards.

🔹 For PTE Academic, the new minimum scores will be:

Listening: 33

Reading: 36

Writing: 29

Speaking: 24

🔹 For IELTS, the requirement remains unchanged at a minimum of 5.0 (in each component).

Starting 1 July 2025, the Department of Home Affairs will increased visa application charges across most subclasses. Here are the updated government fees for the most common visa types:

🔹 Student visa:
• Main applicant: $2,000
• Dependent 18+: $1,225
• Dependent under 18: $400
🔹 Skills in Demand (former 482 visa):
• Main applicant: $3,210
• Dependent 18+: $3,210
• Dependent under 18: $805
🔹 Permanent skilled visas (186, 189, 190, 494):
• Main applicant: $4,910
• Dependent 18+: $2,455
• Dependent under 18: $1,230
🔹 Short stay work visas (407/400):
• Main applicant: $430
• Dependent 18+: $430
• Dependent under 18: $110
🔹 Visitor visas (subclass 600):

From 1 July, the salary thresholds for the Skills in Demand Visa (subclass 482) will increase

🔹 Core Skills Stream: $76,515 + superannuation (up from $73,150 + super).
🔹 Specialist Skills Stream: $141,210 + superannuation (up from $135,000 + super).

📌 These changes will apply to all visa applications lodged on or after 1 July 2025
