🚨 Important Update – CSIT Increase from 1 July (Minimum Sponsor Salary)

From 1 July, the Core Skills Income Threshold (CSIT) will increase.

πŸ’° New threshold: $79,499 + superannuation
πŸ’° Current threshold: $76,515 + superannuation

The CSIT is the minimum annual salary that an employer must offer to sponsor a worker under the following visa subclasses:
β€’ Subclass 482 (Skills in Demand)
β€’ Subclass 494
β€’ Subclass 186

πŸ“Œ What does this mean in practice?
β€’ Nominations lodged before 1 July will remain subject to the current threshold of $76,515.
β€’ Nominations lodged on or after 1 July must meet the new threshold of $79,499.

From 22 October 2025, application fees for professional and general occupation skills assessments will increase in line with inflation (Consumer Price Index – CPI).

πŸ’² VETASSESS skills assessment fee until today: $1,177 (gst inc)
πŸ’²VETASSESS fee from tomorrow: $1,205.6 (gst inc)

The priority processing fee will go up to $907.5

⚠️ This increase does not apply to trade occupation assessments.

🚨 Important Update – English Test Requirements for the 482 Visa 🚨

From 13 September 2025, the Department of Home Affairs has updated the English language requirements for the Skills in Demand (subclass 482) visa.

πŸ‘‰ This change applies to all test score results issued from 13 September 2025 onwards.

πŸ”Ή For PTE Academic, the new minimum scores will be:

Listening: 33

Reading: 36

Writing: 29

Speaking: 24

πŸ”Ή For IELTS, the requirement remains unchanged at a minimum of 5.0 (in each component).
