Are you or someone you know on maternity leave and starting to feel anxious about returning to work?

We don’t talk enough about it.

The time that you feel is going too quickly.
The moments you worry you might miss.
The uncertainty of going back… and not quite feeling like the same person who left.

The Centre of Learning understand and are here to support you.

Meet Laura Bowd, a past participant on our Back to Business programme 🍼

“I found Back to Business extremely helpful in preparing for my return to work. I’m so glad I took part - it’s given me the confidence to return, along with practical tools to support me along the way.”

Laura also shared something many parents experience but don’t always say out loud - not everyone has that ‘village’ around them. And with that often comes the question: “How will I balance my baby and my return to work?”

You don’t have to figure it out alone.

If you’re planning your return after maternity leave, the Back to Business programme is designed to help you rebuild confidence, gain practical strategies and feel supported every step of the way.

📅 Next programme starts: Thursday 1st October

At its heart, business is still about people.

And while online platforms have broadened access to contacts and markets, they cannot fully replace the value of face-to-face interaction and local connection.

For regional economies, the impact extends even further.

Well-hosted business events are not simply opportunities to build your LinkedIn network; they create ecosystems of collaboration. They enable knowledge-sharing, drive innovation and strengthen local supply chains by connecting SMEs with suppliers, partners and funders they may not otherwise encounter.

For organisations like Women in Business, the value of regional outreach is particularly clear.

Growth cannot be concentrated solely in major urban centres.

To build an inclusive economy, we must ensure that opportunities are accessible across all regions from Belfast to Derry, Newry to Enniskillen and that women-led businesses and women in organisations in every locality have equal access to networks, knowledge and support.
