Our team visited Digital Transformation EXPO (DTX) at Excel in London yesterday.

We’re working on digital transformation projects for a couple of customers at the moment, so thought we’d take the opportunity to pick up some tips.

One standout keynote explained how execs and boards measure ROI from change. At the highest level, they often just go by one of three things:

1. Does it increase revenue
2. Does it reduce costs
3. Does it reduce risk

Lots more great takeaways from the day - would definitely recommend these types of events, as it’s always awesome to learn how other people do things.

Be aware - a couple of our customers have reported issues with Azure Virtual Machines failing to start in the UK South region due to Azure capacity constraints.

Microsoft have confirmed that they are experiencing ongoing capacity issues, particularly affecting GPU resources.

Public reports suggest that this is being driven in part by increased demand for GPU capacity, linked to the growing use of AI workloads.

Microsoft have also confirmed that they have a programme of works underway to increase data centre capacity.

Our team were at the Technology for Marketing Expo 2026, Excel London last week. Here's what they learnt...

Lots of gimmicks across stands to draw you in. The stands without gimmicks definitely had less footfall.

KEY THEME

No real shockers... like every other industry, it's all about AI / agents and automation - a clear theme across marketing tech.

TRENDS

Larger businesses are starting to train AI large language models (LLMs) with their own information - using it as their differentiator.

One company had trained an LLM on their business and created an "Ask Tony" tool (basically an Alexa / Siri equivalent) which internal staff can ask when they need key info about the business, customers, or brand.

A COUPLE OF POINTS FROM SPEAKERS

1 - When you introduce heavy AI automation (for marketing or otherwise), think of your people first. They will be impacted by the change, so make sure they are included and taken on the journey.

2 - One keynote speaker said - "don't underestimate the power of TikTok for your marketing".

If you're using CAD software locally, consider moving it to Azure or AWS.

We've just finished migrating CAD software onto Azure Virtual Desktops for a customer.

It means they can run complex software on low-powered PCs, and also share their CAD licences between more part-time users, rather than having to buy a licence for each user.
