I’ve made a poster for Wednesday!
I’m getting sooo excited to host this workshop. Flow is a fascinating topic and I’m hungry for more knowledge!

What does it mean to be completely absorbed in what you’re doing? That’s Flow: a state of deep engagement where challenge and skill meet at just the right level.

And Forest School has an incredible capacity to create it.

🌿 Autonomy and genuine choice
⏳ Long stretches of unhurried time
🌳 The calming sensory experience of nature
🪵 Hands-on challenges with immediate feedback
🔥 The freedom to explore an idea deeply rather than constantly being “moved on”

But as Forest School practitioners we accidentally destroy flow by packing sessions with activities rather than giving children the time and space to go deeper.

That’s exactly what we’re exploring in this month’s Forest School Support Hub workshop:

WHERE FLOW GROWS: Nurturing Deep Engagement in Forest School

with Rebecca Meager, author of Teaching for Flow: Transforming Primary Education for Optimal Learning.

We’ll explore how Flow can look different in neurotypical and neurodivergent learners, why autonomy and unhurried time matter, and how to recognise and protect those moments of deep immersion.

And importantly, we’ll put it into practice.

You’ll Flow Map one of your own Forest School sessions to identify where Flow is likely to happen, where you might inadvertently interrupt it, what could be removed or expanded, and where different levels of challenge could be offered.

In June I welcomed 3 Forest School business owners into the Forest School Fast-Track.

This is an intensive marketing program providing you with the tools, training and implementation support to sell out your Forest School (guaranteed)

The results have been incredible (so far!). Sold out block bookings that were previously being cancelled due to low numbers, 100s of new leads and improved engagemnent and visibility across social media + the web.

This is a heads-up post that I will be opening applications for the next cohort on 3rd August for a 1st September start.
