BNI Canterbury has a LEGEND in the room! 🏆

Our very own Julien Piper has been recognised as a BNI Legend in the latest Kent newsletter, marking an incredible 21 years of membership.

Over that time, Julien has attended 871 meetings, completed 323 one-to-ones, passed 2,002 referrals and generated £1,068,602 of business for fellow members.

A brilliant achievement and very well deserved recognition for someone who has given so much to the chapter and its members.

32 years of BNI between them!

This month we celebrated three member renewals:

👏 Rick Tyler from Howden Insurance, renewing for his second year.

👏 Tony Hughes, who’s now been with us for eight years.

👏 Mike Lilford, who’s been a member for 22 years and has been thanked for a phenomenal £8 million in referred business during that time.

That’s 32 years combined, which is longer than some of our members have been on the planet!

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and made our Annual Family BBQ such a fantastic day. It was brilliant to see members, partners and families enjoying time together away from the weekly meeting, catching up and getting to know one another even better.

A special thank you goes to everyone who worked so hard behind the scenes to make it happen; Tony , Richard, Pam and James for all the planning and organisation, and to Johnnie for keeping everyone well-fed by flipping burgers all afternoon. Your time, effort and commitment are hugely appreciated.

We also added a little challenge to the day with our BNI Canterbury 5K, with members taking on the run to raise money for Take Off. A fantastic effort from everyone who laced up their running shoes! 🏅

A massive thank you also goes to Jason Dodd for capturing some fantastic photos throughout the day. 📸 We'll be sharing more of them over the coming days, so keep an eye on our page!

Thank you again to everyone who attended, volunteered and supported the day. It's events like these that remind us that BNI is about so much more than business, it's about building lasting relationships, having fun together and supporting our community.

A couple of weeks ago, BNI Canterbury had the pleasure of taking part in the Sheppey Walking Football Tournament.

The competition featured eight experienced walking football teams from across Kent, plus a very strong team from Blackpool. We may be a networking group rather than a football team, but we entered anyway after just a couple of practice sessions.

A huge thank you to Tony Hughes for inviting us and to everyone at Sheppey Walking Football Club for a brilliant day.

We were delighted to win every game in our group and finish top of the table. Phil Greene was our top scorer throughout the tournament, while Trevor Fitzgerald of Fitzgerald Jewellers put us 1-0 up in the semi-final. Unfortunately, we were pegged back and eventually knocked out on penalties, despite a fantastic save from Mike Lilford.
