SUCCESS in FULHAM🌟

Congratulations are in order today to Aydin who has obtained a Premises Licence on his Dr DESSERT shop at 174 Wandsworth Bridge Road following a contested Hearing. 8 Objectors challenged his plan to operate a DELIVERY-ONLY operation of hot and cold desserts after 23:00hrs at night, claiming that his spotless operation would cause crime, litter and noise nuisance, despite NO alcohol being involved. After a very thorough consideration by the Committee, the Licence was granted until 00:00hrs mid week and 01:00hrs at weekends. Well done, Aydin!

Facing 34 objections from local residents before an evening Hearing of the Bracknell Forest Licensing Sub Committee, Paul SCARROTT from Bucklers Coffee Ltd faced some significant challenges in obtaining a Premises Licence on his café bistro in Crowthorne.

Another interesting case. Sheetal and Jay extended their store into the house next door with all Planning permission already secured. However a neighbour objected to the Variation of their Premises Licence plan, and spent 15 minutes addressing the Panel without touching on ANY Licensable Activity, mainly concentrating on amenity and the proximity to residential accommodation - an essential feature of any Cornershop - and ALL related to Planning and NOT Licensing.

The Variation was duly granted with NO additional Conditions imposed, save those already agreed with the Licensing Enforcement Officer. Way to go, Team Niha's!

SUCCESS in KIDDERMINSTER🌟

Bit of a different story today - a rare occurrence in the form of a PERSONAL LICENCE Hearing.

Over a year ago, young Isobel had a terrible night, resulting in a bad decision which ended up with her losing her Driving Licence. However her Boss, Maria, had complete faith in her and backed her in her studies for a Personal Licence. Her application was resisted by the Police, and it ended up in a Hearing before the Licensing Sub Committee.

The Committee listened to her explanation, took evidence on her remorse, rehabilitation, work ethic, professionalism, numerous character references and host of other professional qualifications she has since obtained. They duly granted her Personal Licence as the Police had failed to justify a refusal on the grounds that it would undermine the Prevention of Crime & Disorder Licensing Objective.
