Founders are expected to ‘listen to feedback’ and also ‘trust their gut’ simultaneously.

Which is confusing, because both are right
 but not all the time.

I think good feedback usually comes from:

The people who are actually using what you’re creating.

With repeated patterns, not one random comment.

And a few smart people you trust, who have relevant expertise or experience to tell you the truth without being dramatic.

Starting and running your own business isn’t all Lamborghinis and private jets. But it’s not all bad either!

Imagine a world without hearing the phrase ‘circle back’.
Worth it.

Social media is still one of the best tools you have to build a business.

But that doesn’t mean you have to turn yourself into a ‘female founder’.

You are so much more interesting if you show how you actually think and do things. You’ll stand out so much more if you just be yourself and showcase your true opinions and passions.

If we all looked the same it would be very boring wouldn’t it.

This morning I woke up to an email promising me that could be making another $300k every month if I just signed up to this amazing program. And better yet, if we didn’t hit that number, they wouldn’t even charge us for the work. I was (somewhat evil-ly) tempted to take them up on it, as Incrediballs hasn’t even launched yet. It’s almost like they hadn’t done their research 👀

So yeah, Incrediballs isn’t ready for paid ads yet.

Are you?

Are you wondering if the solution to all your problems is just paying for some ads? Or, if you are already using ads, are you frustrated that they are not working for you?

We have some thoughts.

Stop burning money and focus on your fundamentals first; creative, messaging, consistency, organic content, and a website that converts.

Paid ads rarely build brands.

Still don’t believe social media works? We beg to differ.

It has worked for , and will be a huge part of our marketing strategy going forward.

"High-status" might not be our favorite phrase, but it’s what the research used to describe those who can influence opportunities, offers, and resources.

It’s clear that networking opens doors. However, research has largely focused on men, overlooking the complexities women face in high-status networks.

Women leveraging these connections often face perceptions of being unlikable and overly ambitious. According to the research, this can be mitigated if women approach networking with a sense of communality.

But should we have to? There have to be better ways. Confronting our own internalised biases and calling it out when we see it is a start.

More choices = fewer sales? Sounds like an oxymoron, but it’s true!

In the early days of Ethique I made SO MANY THINGS and very few of them fit into a proper range. I had customers constantly asking for new things and as I wanted to make everyone happy I made them all! It wasted money, time, resources
and it made me feel like a failure - it didn’t make anyone happy. So then I read the famous jam study (why jam of all things?!).

In the study, shoppers were more likely to buy when offered 6 varieties instead of 24. Why? Choice overload. People got overwhelmed with how much there was.

So, take a critical look at your current range and NPD (new product development) plans. Do you have a case of “shiny object syndrome” or a cohesive range that makes sense?
