Disenchantment is a nasty feeling, and we hate being under its power. It's much easier to forget, avert eyes and keep illusion around. When you're fire someone it's a disillusion already. But there is always another one we forget.

Teams hire and engage new specialists with all the thoughts spining around strengthening and growth. The irony is that it's common to think the same way when firing people also. And the questions are why and what's the aftermath?

When a non-competent person is fired, we also focus our eyes towards the future. Changing the situation to better — that's the usual line of thinking in business. Firing becomes sparing place to a new more competent team mate.

Only substantial harm forces us look backwards and count the losses. In all other cases we just think forward and ignore all past expenses. Within this mind game we miss a huge money loss, that we didn't even think about.

Once the Steve Jobs churned out his thoughts about A-players, this term became a mantra. Nowadays it drives lives of all unicorn-obsessed, we have a new meme for a young dynamically growing company (`we only hire a-players`) and maybe a hundred of books about the phenomenon of `a-playersim`.

However it is still that kind of a liquid term (like soft-skills, f. e.), that everybody has his own explanation of, and there is no general structure that can explain the real sense. It's weird, but there is no even a page on Wikipedia.

Have you ever wondered what lies behind the "soft-skills" term?

Nowadays people, especially HR managers, talk a lot about it, however, this theme may still remain blurry for hiring managers and engineers. In our work we often hear that people consider and evaluate ones' soft skills depending on whether the person is easy going or not.

But soft-skills aren't just about the generalized and abstract feeling of enjoyable conversation. What if we told you that this knowledge area is being examined for over 50 years? During this time the researchers did really deep work on extracting specific skills, its structuring, clustering, and proving its effectiveness.

We've made a short and simple article to clear up the actual meaning of the "soft skills" term and also added some references and links to useful materials.

Even an experienced manager usually has a narrow vision of the work an HR-manager should do. So it's obvious that we had started this business by studying. We thought it would be an easy way, so it was decided that there should be left no blank spots in this direction to us. As you know, ignorance is the most popular way to be confident :)

What would you like to have starting a journey first of all? Right, it's a map.

You are being led when you study in school or in university. Starting a career you think you are already the best in your sphere and decline any help. But when you start something from scratch and want to get where you want, you are starving of any structuring or guidance.

We had made our journey through hundreds of paper and online sources and found no structure or a root point. So eventually we had decided to make it by ourselves. Now we ask you to help us to make it complete. We'll make a poster further.

Коли Кронос тільки покинув цей світ, у останнього троянського царя Пріама народилася дочка. Вона отримала пророчий дар від закоханого в неї бога Аполлона. До її пророцтв більше ніхто не прислуховувався, але передбачене нею втілилося в трагічному руйнуванні Трої.

Звали її Кассандра, і вона досі з нами. Хитро замаскувавшись під базу данних, вона врешті-решт навчилась розкривати обраним секрети своїх пророцтв. Але приборкати цю міць може лише справжній архітектурний майстер, який знає як вправлятися з капризними дамами.

Ось вже п`ять тисяч років я шукаю цього героя, пройшла всі стежки лінкедіну і тернисті шляхи за його межами. Тож якщо ти чуєш мене, славний рицарю, і готовий взяти Кассандру під своє крило, або ж знаєш сміливця, який здатен на це,— пиши, дзвони, приходь в гості (можеш навіть з конем :) )
