Started in 2013, Pophouse is a full-scope design studio focused on the built environment. Located in Detroit, Michigan, we work on both commercial and residential projects with a specialty in workplace, hospitality, and retail as well as home office design. Our team of designers and strategists work to positively impact people through interior, industrial, and environmental graphic design. Leveraging industry research and business intelligence, we begin every project with a meaningful strategy that informs our design narrative. That design narrative is then carried through every aspect of the project including finishes, space plans, custom furniture, branding, wayfinding, signage, and artwork to transform the space into one that highlights your culture, increases productivity, and optimizes business outcomes.

Experiential Design shows up in so many ways across the city. Swipe for some of our favorites ☁️

Nick Gilbert Way has stunning experiential programming through their wayfinding systems and interative lighting components, allowing the space to adapt to the events happening each month.

San Morello nails the bespoke exterior signage with their script neon logo and custom awnings.

Comerica Park holds some of Detroit’s history with custom Pewabic Pottery tiles across the facade.

The Belt holds a rich collection of murals from iconic artists; we love this NINA CHANEL ABNEY piece.

Custom hand painted golf-leaf signage is a staple in historic buildings downtown, and our team wanted to pay homage to that with The Belle’s wayfinding programming.

Wayfinding helps users navigate, but can also be beautiful. The wayfinding design downtown does both.

Ghost signs are faded advertisements the 1900’s and add so much charm to the architecture of the city. Walk down Broadway and you will see some stunning examples.

The People Mover’s window treatments add a splash of color to each stop that creates a moment of delight for users.

The Cavs Corridor showcases the legacy of Rock Family Office. The design team wanted this hallway to be a walkable timeline, creating a portal from Detroit to Cleveland. The iconic Cavaliers w**e tone saturates the walls and lighting takes on the charged, dramatic quality of an arena. The corridor resolves at its center in the Cavs Closet, anchored by the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy from their 2016 Championship win.

We are proud to share a first look of Rock Family Office : The office that connects the Family of Companies- a diverse collection of more than 100 entities built on innovation.

ROCK brought Pophouse on to design its new corporate family office inside Hudson’s Detroit , a landmark mixed-use development on Woodward Avenue. The brief called for a workplace that honored the heritage of the location while serving as a forward-looking home for ROCK’s team.
