Meet the Fontaine Family: Wendy

Originally from the southeast side of the state, Wendy moved up here in 2025 and joined our family that May. Being a former hairstylist, she has mastered the art of small talk and loves to get to know her customers. She loves soaking up all there is to know about w**es and vineyards—especially those of Chateau Fontaine!

When she’s not in the tasting room, Wendy loves staying active—whether in the gym or hiking, exploring different areas, writing, baking and of course meeting people anywhere she goes. Wendy is our tasting room social butterfly!

Meet the Fontaine Family: Marcy Rogers

Marcy joined the family in 2020, and is a strong advocate for Chateau Fontaine. From the vineyard to the glass, she values both the w**e education she’s received here and the opportunity to work with such a fun, diversified team. Her favorite part of the job is helping a customer discover which w**es fit their unique palate.

Along with her passion for w**e, Marcy is equally enthusiastic about swimming, fishing, scrabble and all things Hemingway. You will find her smiling when there’s a dinner party or family involved, and she has a grandson due any day!

Meet the Fontaine Family: Cindy Hoffman

Do you remember that guy ‘not Dan’?
Well he has a wife (sorry bachelorettes), and her name is Cindy. She was so jealous of all the lovely humans Ken was meeting that she had to step in last fall when we were in need of more staff and more fun!

Cindy uses one of her days off from working at the bank to help us out on the weekends.

Even on her days off from the tasting room, she finds time to say hi—just stopping by or staying awhile to enjoy some of our lovely music nights. Previously here only for the summer, Cindy and Ken moved up here permanently, so she’s not going anywhere any time soon.

Meet the Fontaine Family: Kim Speicher

Kim started her place in the Fontaine Family as a W**e Club Member. She applied on a whim as she met up with Elizabeth the day of her interview and learned that her favorite w**ery was hiring.

As a retired Spanish teacher from the Leelanau School, she joined us to fill her spare time—that is when she’s not teaching ESL or spending time with her family.

She is always up for a good adventure—in this state or another continent—and loves soaking up new information about any topic and has especially enjoyed learning everything there is to know about w**e and Chateau Fontaine.

Meet the Fontaine Family: Elizabeth and Melissa

Our summer team is leaving us! Elizabeth and Melissa have to return to the Leelanau School where they teach tomorrow’s leaders. Elizabeth has been with us for two summers and had so much fun and loved everyone she interacted with, she had to invite Melissa to join the family! During the school year, Elizabeth teaches English and History, and Melissa teaches Spanish.

They may be leaving for the fall, but they will be back! They promised us help for our event weekends and next summer, so you will see them again soon :)
